It just gets better and better.

Black Diamond continues to the raise the standard for excellent camming units year after year, and the Camalot X4 Offset is its newest knight in shining armor. Each side of the cam has a different sized lobe that helps you place it in oddly shaped cracks in order to give you more placement options so you stay safer while you climb. The bigger sizes have the same beloved double-axle design that BD's C4 series has, which provides a huge expansion range and allows the cam to double as a stopper when placed passively. The smaller sizes follow BD's brand new design where both axles are stacked onto one another in order to give you the same benefits as the double axle, only this design suits smaller cams better so you can place them in tiny pin scars with confidence.

The Camalot X4 Offset also features springs within the lobes that keep the head sleek, narrow, and easy to place in a variety of different sized cracks. Black Diamond armored the single stem with aluminum beads that add durability and strength when you set it in awkward horizontal placements. Both the symmetric swage and the hot-forged trigger bar offer an ergonomic control when you clean your gear, and each cam is color-coded with a complementary Dyneema sling so they can stand out amongst all your other pieces on your rack.

    • Stacked axle design in the 0.1/0.2, 0.2/0.3, and 0.3/0.4 sizes
    • Double axle design in the 0.4/0.5 and 0.5/0.75 sizes
    • Cam springs embedded in narrow lobes
    • Armored cable
    • Symmetric swage
    • Hot-forged trigger bar
    • Color-coded with complementary Dyneema sling

    Little’s best friend

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This sink in on almost every route in Little Cottonwood. Love the versatility and perfect placement options when a standard camalot just won’t cut it.

    Go-to for granite

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I know that once upon a time I climbed granite cracks without offset cams, but now I shudder at the thought. I have the X4 offsets from .1/.2 to .4/.5 and I've used them everywhere from Little Cottonwood to Yosemite and Squamish. I often finish a pitch thinking, that would be scary without offsets.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

When you need'em you are going to be stoked you have 'em! And the confidence they inspire to make that next hard move really makes a difference.

      Great placements and versatile

The right tool for the job

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Looking to have more versatile cams? Want to find a cam that can protect that spot that always gets you nervous? The offset has slimmed down my rack and rewarded me with solid placements. I find it is the best on awkward granite constrictions or jagged quartzite. Much more than a specialty piece, and fits in more places than you'd think. In Little Cottonwood Canyon, these find a permanent place on my rack.

The right tool for the job

      Versatile style

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just picked these up and have really enjoyed their placements thus far. The offset design makes one piece really versatile. They perform perfectly in flaring cracks and in splitters as well. I'm super stoked to take these to J tree and Yosemite with me this summer. It's time to earn some silver on these beautifully engineered cams!

      solid placement

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

its another black diamond cam. i always love the way black diamond rocks their products. the offset cams are nice for ofwith cracks and they will be part of my rack for a long time

      Great cams

Offset cams in the smaller range have almost replaced even-lobed cams in my rack. I bought this cam to replace one I lost. Places well, it's durable, no trigger problems or other design issues that I have noticed so far. Careful cleaning them though, pulling the trigger can walk the cam and the smaller the cam is the less retraction you have to work with. Great cam.

        Another solid BD product

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I admit I'm partial to BD Cams. But these really made a great addition to my rack. They fit very well in oddly shaped small cracks (which tend to be common in my climbing area) and locations that otherwise would not hold a standard cam as well. Because of the overlapping range of the BD cams, I've also used them as another cam in a particular size range in more parallel cracks when I've run low on gear (pretty sure this isn't strictly recommended) They are very lightweight and offer a lot of flexibility when combined with the standard x4s. I've fallen on the .2/.3 when it was placed in a crack that wouldn't have held either the .2 or the .3 well and the offset held.

Another good addition the the rack

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Although I have the full gambit of BD cams (C4, X4, C3) I got a few of the X4 offsets because some of my climbing areas eat up offsets well. They are great to have and create more contact with the rock. As durable as the X4 with the helpful offset. Solid product, as to be expected from BD hardware.

X4: The Missing Link in the Camalot Fam

          Black Diamond Camalot X4 & X4 Offset

            I like them

            • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've used both Aliens and Totem basic offsets. These are another very strong cam for those unique needs when nothing else fits securely. I need to put more miles on them, but these will be great.
