Small in the shoulders

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

When this arrived I was really psyched with the look and the quality. There is no doubt this is a high quality jacket that would be fantastic on the mountain. I bought a size L based on the size chart. But when I tried it on, it was tight across the chest and in the shoulders. I then ordered an XL to see how that was, but that was way too big in the body. I kept the Large for a few weeks and kept trying it on waiting to see if I could live with it, but eventually I had to admit it was too small. I have an athletic build and the cut on this seems to be slimmer and not for broad shoulders or chest. If you are at the top end of the size chart in terms of chest size (Mine measures about 43.5), this may not be for you. I finally sent it back and ordered the Recon shell. That has a bit more of a relaxed fit and I love it, though I'm going to miss the slight insulation of the BoundaryLine Mapped.
