The 8.5 Dry Climbing Rope is Black Diamond's versatile twin or half rope designed for winter mountaineering and summer alpine climbing. It's the thickest twin or half rope that Black Diamond offers, and its dry treatment protects the core and sheath from water absorption for use on ice or rock. Unique to BD ropes, the 2x2 woven sheath balances both durability and great handling; it isn't too stiff that it struggles through belay devices or so soft that it won't last a single season.
