    Missing parts and awful service

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

    Do not buy from this company! The product itself is nice, the customer service, however, is abysmal. I ordered my bag weeks before my trip to bike in Wyoming. I received my bag within days but did not receive the protective air bladders (The main source of protection) that are supposed to come with it. I wrote and called the company and received no reply. I was two weeks from my trip and decided to buy some replacement air bladders and incur additional costs because I was in a time squeeze. Guess what, I didn’t receive those either. The company owes me two sets of air bladders at this point. I dumped my money into a black hole. I had to get creative and used inflatable pool toys to protect my bike (shown in the photo). This thankfully worked but still does not account for Biknd’s awful customer service. You can’t use the product to its full potential when you do not have the required protective pieces. I still have not heard from the company despite polite inquiries. I have to assume they are either going out of business or do not care about their customers and their bikes. Order at your own risk.

    This is probably equivalent to the Evoc Pro case- it has an internal frame to mount your fork and rear triangle to, good padding with the air bags on each side, rolls well. I had to return it though, because it weighs over 24lbs. Only an XC bike is going to make it under the 50lb airline weight limit. Interestingly the box stated 8kg, the OnTrac sticker said 18.5 lbs, but I used both a bath and luggage scale and got over 24lbs.
    Unfortunately, most modern trail bikes being 30+ lbs, only the Dakine, maybe the non-pro Evoc are going to avoid overweight charges on a lot of airlines.

    Protects my pretty bike!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    I've had the "Jetpack" (V1) for over two years now, used for about 10 cross-country trips - zero issues. I was really hesitant to put my beautiful carbon bike/wheels on a plane, but Road Nationals was on the other side of the country so I had no choice.

    The Jetpack has protected my 56cm Tarmac road bike/Zipp 404's on every single trip, surviving luggage handling, being stuffed in cars on its side, other bike bags stacked on top of it, etc.

    Btw I hate adjusting anything on my bike, but with this you only need to drop the saddle and remove your handlebars & pedals. So you only need to bring pedal wrenches and a torque key as far as tools go. Also it has extra room for shoes, helmet, tools, kits - and comes in at just under 50 lbs when fully packed.

    The first time I packed my bike it probably took two hours, but now I've got it down to 15 minutes.

    The only two downsides I can think of:
    1) it only has wheels on the back, so you end up lifting the front of it and pulling it around - can be a pain for a bike racer like me with a weak upper-body..

    What I did was buy some $11 "caster wheels" and screw them through the bottom of the bag in the front. Now I can push the bag around with one finger! Keeping my weak upper body rested for lifting trophies on the podium of course.

    2) I do wish the branding didn't scream "THIS IS A BICYCLE, PLEASE CHARGE ME EXTRA", but even if you convince the gate agent that it's "art" or whatever it's still oversize.. so htfu and pay extra.

    In summary it's worth the cost of the bag - having your bike with you when you travel is priceless.

    hope V2 is better than 1

    I bought version 1 in April 2015. I selected 2 stars because it is just below "adequate for the job." It was adequate for a few months. But now it's not. So I recommend you buy a case that will last longer. After a handful of plane trips (maybe 8 legs), finishing pieces fell apart. One of the handle fastener covers popped off. The velcro that holds one of the wheel "chucks" (?) in place ripped. The outer fabric wore quickly in high-friction/high-contact areas ... to be expected ... but then put plastic or something harder in those spaces. The elastic that holds the nylon fabric around the blow-up wheel-protecting "donuts" came undone. Other things like that. It was disappointing. So I paid $400-500 for a bike case that lasted me a few months and now is just good enough to act as a storage locker that sits in my basement. Would not ship my bike on a plane with this case again after those little signs of wear.
