Get after it.

Whether you're heading out for an after work sunset ride with your closest gals or a rowdy Sunday afternoon testing new DH flow trails, shield your brain with the Bell Super 3R MIPS Helmet so you can go all in. This full-face helmet comes with serious protection for rugged DH and enduro racing, but with a removable chin bar and lightweight In-Mold construction, it won't weigh you down on mellower trail rides either.

The In-Mold partners of polycarbonate and EPS foam have long worked as a strong team in helmet construction, and they give the Super 3R protective properties without bulk when a user error sends you careening into low-hanging tree branches or flying over the handlebars. Inside the helmet, MIPS technology adds subtle but important protection in the form of a thin, flexible basket, which is designed to move slightly upon impact to absorb brain-damaging rotational energy generated by certain crashes. Add to that a breakaway camera mount and breakaway screws throughout the helmet's body, and your grey matter will be well-guarded if you misjudge a line and find yourself staring up at the sky.

In helmet design, comfort is almost as paramount to protection. After all, you and your bike will hopefully spend the majority of your ride time upright. To that end, Bell punched a whopping 23 vents throughout the body of the helmet, an impressive number that's further supplemented with four brow ports and six vents along the chin bar, making sure you'll have all the airflow you'll need on a hot summer day. X-Static padding adds cushion and comfort as the helmet rests against your noggin, while a Goggleguide adjustable visor accommodates your choice of eye shields without any fuss.

  • Send do-or-die lines in this light, adaptable helmet
  • Removable chin bar adapts helmet to mellower trail rides
  • MIPS liner minimizes rotational energy in certain crashes
  • Wealth of vents keep air moving while you ride
  • Integrated camera mount breaks away in a spill
  • Adjustable visor accommodates your goggles of choice

She loves it!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this as a gift for someone and she loves it! It looks great and protects her face when riding gnarly stuff!

Super light protection

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I gave this to my wife for added protection and she loves it. She uses it for all style of rides and is very impressed with how light it is.

Great helmet and it looks good too

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Gave this is a gift to a friend who prefers an intense ride. She feels safe and comfortable in this helmet. Hopefully she doesn't have to find out how well it protects!

Ultra cool, comfy, versatile helmet!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I will be honest and admit that I haven't crashed with this helmet, so I cant attest to how sturdy it might be in an accident. I bought the aqua color in the 2017 model, which I assume is pretty similar to this year's, provided they didn't change a lot besides the color. It's super light weight, amazingly so--especially for a full face. I love all the vents, it's the coolest helmet I've ever tried on or owned. I always forget that the chin bar is even there because it's not cumbersome when I'm riding. I live in the high desert where it gets blistering hot and dry. There's xc, enduro, and DH riding around here, so this convertible style is perfect. I hesitate to wear this thing downhilling, if only because it lacks certain safety certifications that other true DH helmets have. You'll add some extra weight by upgrading to a real DH helmet, but I think for anyone who loves enduro and xc, it's perfect! I've worn this at least 30+ rides by now, and I still love it! Previously, I would opt to ride better safe than sorry on the enduro trails and be wearing my full DH helmet the entire way, and often felt that my head was going to explode! I would get so hot and uncomfortable that it would almost spoil the ride. I think it looks nice as a regular helmet too. The only drawback is that the inner "pads" feel thin and hard, sort of more like plastic than fabric. After a while, (1.5+hrs), they seem to indent a little into my forehead. Bearable, but if you're very tactile this might annoy you. Overall a killer helmet which has allowed me to progress and learn with confidence, building my skills! Not sure how it would stand up to an insane crash, but I think if you're questioning, going with a true DH helmet is safest in that instance.

Perfect multi-use helmet.

This helmet is great! It is very lightweight and breathable with strength and durability for the chin guard. Great cross over helmet for those that want a full face one day and a lightweight trail helmet the next.

Love Love This Helmet!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Super safe and very comfortable. Bell has a proven history and they've done it again. The adjusting is easy, the fit is superb, morphs to a half helmet in no time. Plus, she loves the color and many women riders stop her and ask about the helmet because they notice the aqua color. Looks like a girl but not girly pink!

Goofy looking

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Full face is a pretty cool design. Simple to take face bar on and off. Lightweight and feels great on. Wearing it as a half shell, on the other hand, looks Goofy as can be. The sides of the helmet are really far away from my head like an inch or so. Granted I have a skinny face but no other helmet has done that. Looks like a rice farmer hat on me.

The caption says "women's" helmet. Is there a specific reason for this? I prefer this style over the other colors for the same exact helmet.

BTW: I'm not a woman in case you're wondering. #Lol

Hey Vrej - The only reason this is "Women's" is the colors and graphics. The fit is the same as the Men's Super 3R MIPS Helmet. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions on this or other bike helmets.
