Basin and Range Uinta Sleeping Bag: 0 Degree Synthetic

Ready for anything.

A leaky hydration bladder can spell disaster for a down sleeping bag, but the Basin and Range Uinta 0 Degree Synthetic Sleeping Bag retains insulating properties when wet, so it won't be game over when you get to the trailhead and realize your reservoir leaked all over your gear. Packed full of a water-resistant synthetic fill and treated with a PFC-free DWR, the Uinta Sleeping Bag is well equipped to deal with wet climates, soggy winter camps, and tent mates that have a tendency to spill the bota bag. The tough 70D fabric is durable enough to withstand those nights spent sleeping out under the stars, and the shingle construction along the top of the bag helps maximize loft for a warmer night's sleep on those especially cold nights. Like the other sleeping bags in the Uinta line, his 0-degree option features an insulated draft tube and 3D hood to help trap precious body heat as you sleep.

  • 0-degree sleeping bag suitable for cold weather camping
  • High-loft synthetic fill is water-resistant
  • Full-length zipper allows for easy ventilation on warm nights
  • Snag-free tube blocks drafts and offers better insulation
  • 3D hood construction keeps head and ears warm
  • Top shingle construction maximizes loft
  • Stuff sack included for convenient packing

Warm and soft, lightweight

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I did an overnight trip with my four-year-old son up by Strawberry Reservoir (Utah) in mid-May. My son slept in this bag overnight with temperatures down to 18 degrees. He chose to sleep with his head inside the bag and said he stayed completely warm throughout the night without getting too hot. The bag was lightweight, easy to pack away, and the liner was made of soft and smooth materials.

Great synthetic

I bought this as a gift and then realized this person already purchased themselves a sleeping bag so instead of returning it I kept it for myself. Love this sleeping bag have used it in really cold temps. I prefer down, but nothing beats synthetic as far as not wanting to be concerned about getting things a bit damp here or there. The only con is that this bag is not very packable, if you are going on a serious trekking trip I would consider something more packable. It weighs about 4 pounds and packs down to a size and inch or two larger around than a basketball.

    Sleep well?

I haven't put the sleeping bag to the test, but I opened it up and went inside and seems to be everything that I'm looking for. The one thing I wasn't stoked on is that I would like it to compact a bit smaller for a backpacker.

      NOT 3 lbs!

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I was very skeptical about the weight, 3 lb for a synthetic 0 degree F bag? So I wrote to backcountry and they wrote back stating that yes, this bag does weigh in at 3 lbs. Went ahead and ordered the thing thinking that it was an 'undiscovered bargain', it being a backcountry bag. I mean, MH does make a 0 degree F bag that weighs in at 3 lb 4 oz so I thought this bag was really a 3 lb bag. When it arrived I took it to my scales and to my surprise it weighs in, with the stuff sack, 4 lb and 12 oz! The stuff sack weighs in at 4.75 oz, so the net weight of the bag is 4 lb 7.25 oz. It goes without saying that this bag is going back. I can't believe a serious outfit like backcountry would be so off when publishing spec, more so with their own house brand. I guess the old saying "If it is too good to be true...." still applies.

      NOT 3 lbs!

Same thing happened to me! I'm so upset, I spent months researching bags and bought this one for black friday sales. Now that's sales are over I got the bag and it's weighs 5 lbs without stuff sack and sales are over. This is totally unacceptable. The weight of the bag is one of the most important details. Now I have to wait for another year to get good sale prices. BECAUSE of this I won't even buy from this website. Way to lose a customer. Back country yoy need to get those details right. I see they have been changed now, but like I said, I have to wait another year before I can afford a good sleeping bag at the best sale price. Really really angry.

I deeply apologize that the information was not right, when you view this product.

I can totally help get you the bag you need. I will be reaching out to both of you now. Sincerely,

Claimed Weight about 3 lbs? Could you guys please be more specific and re-check, this being backcountry's own line? I mean 3 lbs for a 0 degree F synthetic at this price is pretty much a steal. Thanks!

Warm sleeping bag for a great price

I took this sleeping bag to the desert where the temperature dropped below 0. It kept me toasty warm. The feet felt a little restricted but overall a great bag for the cost!
