I love my rain coat best investment

Waterproof, okay fit.

The coat is waterproof and works great in the Seattle rain. I particularly like it for riding my bike because it is long enough to stop the back-tire spray from painting my back side. The sleeves are extremely short and the waist is larger than I would like. Even so, the jacket looks great and is nice enough for me to feel comfortable in a semi-formal (i.e., no jeans) work environment. I am 5'9" and 130 lbs and the medium fits okay. Really just the shortness of the sleeves is the only issue, but I have really long arms.

Gets the job done while looking great.

Pros:
- SUPER thin, lightweight, stretchy, and waterproof!
- Nice-looking snaps (only top 3 are visible from the outside), and taping colour (bright purple) is a nice contrast to the black/grey without being garish.
- Great fit; I am tall and slim and got a small, and it fits well over a t-shirt OR a sweater without looking super bulky. It is slightly higher-cut in the front than in the back, and the back does have a split 'tail' -- I thought this would bother me but I actually like the feature as it makes the jacket less constricting to walk in.

Cons:
- Pockets have snapping flaps. Annoying to me as I always use the pockets so the flaps are always hanging open.
- Sleeves are short -- not short enough to warrant returning the coat, but worth noting if you have long arms. My favourite part about my old raincoat was some tight-fitting cuffs on the end of the sleeves, so I may end up adding cuffs to this jacket to give it a few extra inches of length.

All in all, a great long raincoat that's super lightweight but not lacking in style.

Mom approved.

I bought this as an early holiday gift for my Mother, and she loves it! She lives in New England and has been searching for a lightweight, waterproof trench coat that doesn't make her look as though she's wearing a shapeless bag. The black looks really quite dapper on her. I chose the color knowing that she needed a jacket that could be worn on impromptu runs to the horse barn to take care of her ponies, without the jacket looking totally gnarly afterwards. I picked her up a medium, and it fits perfectly! She's 5'4", endowed with hips and is a bit of a busty woman, so I chose the medium knowing full well that this jacket runs large and "curvy." I have yet to hear anything back about how waterproof the jacket is, so I'd say her radio silence is probably a good thing!

1. how long is this coat?
2. what is the weight of this coat?

Hey Samatha! The Center Back length on this jacket in size Medium is 35.5" and it should fit at thigh length. The shipping weight of the coat is about 1 lb depending on which size you plan on ordering. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly. Walked in the rain in Seattle and it did a great job of shedding the rain on my way to and from the bus. It does run large, I ordered a small and it fits great, where I normally wear a medium. I like the snaps because it made it where I could snap a few buttons while I was wearing the coat over my small backpack to protect my laptop from the rain. The material is quite stretchy. I am not sure if I like the "tail" yet. Others have said that it looks fine, but I think it is a bit off-putting.

I Really Wanted to Like It...

I've been looking for a thigh-length waterproof shell that can handle work or play, and this one has great features for the price. The fabric drapes nicely, has a bit of stretch, and it should make for a comfortable 3-season jacket. I sized up to allow for layering in cooler weather, and although the top fit perfectly with a down sweater underneath, I found myself wishing the hips were cut a couple of inches narrower. They were just too wide for the rest of the garment. If you're heavier on the bottom, this might be a great option, but I agree that women with narrow hips probably won't like the cut. Also, it would be nice to have an option without the pink accents.

Fashionable Raincoat

Finally I got a rain coat that makes me look stylish! Roomy enough to be worn over thicker clothes, love the hood!

Maybe not for women with narrow hips...

My wife returned this because, although the features seemed great, she said it "poofed out" too much at her hips/thighs. My wife has a narrow/athletic build and the jacket appears to be cut with extra room for hips... The shoulders fit her fine, so sizing down wasn't an option. This one was close, but not quite!

Super hip jacket with one fatal flaw

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This jacket is stunning. I love the light grey color and style. I'm 5'6, 139 lbs with an average build and the medium size was the right fit for me. I could easily layer a thin jacket underneath for extra warmth. The longer trench cut, adjustable waist and placket make the style great. Today I wore it in the rain and sleet. I walked for about 40 minutes (20 minutes X 2 trips) and it kept me dry. The jacket, however, lacks a generous hood. When I cinched the hood tight bc of the winds, my face was completely exposed. This rain coat needs a hood, with a brim, that extends beyond my face. After all, a girl wants her face to be dry. If this coat had a bill, that stuck out a bit after the hood was cinched, it would be the perfect rain coat. But, alas, its not b/c a wet face is not an option.
