Great Jacket, Saggy Liner

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

The jacket fits me great, looks incredible, and keeps me plenty warm. My only issue is the sherpa liner is too saggy and falls down beneath the back of the jacket and can be seen from behind. I returned my first jacket due to this reason and the replacement I received had the same problem. Overall, I am very pleased with the jacket aside from the saggy liner.

Fit is for tall, slender person.

Heavy weight lining and shell is well repellent. My complaint is with fit. I'm 6', 186 lbs. I've ordered a size L in clothing 90% of the time. For the Basin and Range I ordered an XL based on comments of others, and its still shortish in the arms and tight across the chest. Should have ordered an 2XL. Seriously, don't be afraid to order 2 sizes larger because the sizing is way off on this product.

Looks great, but fit it really off.

I bought this for my husband who has several Basin & Range jackets and fleeces that are all size L. This one was comically small in a L. Tight in the shoulders and couldn't even be closed in the front. It looks great and the inside is SUPER soft. Sadly, this is going back.

Looks awesome, fit in shoulders is BAD

I really, really, REALLY want to love this jacket. It looks amazing, the outer material feel burly and look good, the inside is soft and cozy, it’s warm enough that you could wear it bar hopping in the dead of winter and not be cold, BUT..... the fit in the shoulders kills it for me. It’s extremely restrictive, and impairs and arm movement above nipple height. I thought maybe I needed to size up, so I tried on an XL, and besides looking too boxy for me, only provided slightly more mobility in my arms. So, I’m going to return it and look elsewhere. Sucks because I’ve been seeking out a jacket I’m this style for a long time, and thought I’d finally found it.

Basin and range, if you keep this jacket exactly the same (well, maybe slightly longer sleeves for us large ape index dudes) I’ll buy 2.

I say if you are John McCain or have some other disability that prevents you from raising your arms overhead and want an awesome looking jacket, go for it. Otherwise look elsewhere.

so close, but the fit is off

I bought this for my Father In Law. We are about the same size, both wear XL. I tried it on before I gifted it to him and I chose to return it. The shoulders were too tight, I couldn't move my arms if I extended them or even tried to button the coat. If I kept my arms down to my side it fit ok, but once I moved my arms it was too tight.
The style of the coat is great. The look and material were great too, it was heavier than expected so you could wear it on colder days. I didn't want to go to XXL because then the sizing would probably be off in other areas to make up for more room in the chest/shoulder.

I wanted to love you...

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought this for a jacket lover, this was his feedback:
Fit didn't work for me, unfortunately, because I really liked the jacket. 5'10" and 175 lbs, ordered the medium (pretty standard for me), and this was real tight in the chest and shoulders. All other dimensions - length, sleeve length, etc. - were dead on, so I think a large would've been a poncho. SAD!

Beautiful Jacket, good quality materials. I can see this Jacket being dressed up or down. I bought the Blue in a size L for my son who is 5'11". The color is a matted bleu, masculine, but stylish jacket. The lining is soft and warm, perfect for my son who lives in San Francisco. Sadly I'm going to return it, because the lining over laps the bottom back of the hem. I am hoping it's a defective jacket. Therefore, I want to give this jacket a second chance, I plan to exchange it and get the same Jacket with the hopes they were not all made with a overlapping / oversize lining. Love this jacket.

Warmer than expected

This jacket was much warmer than I expected, in a good way. They were very generous with the Sherpa lining which makes this a warm jacket/shacket. I typically think of shackets as more transitional (read: not that warm); however, this one is not that. The fit is very true to size for me (see information below). The blue is a nice middle of the road blue that any guy will feel comfortable sporting and the matte finish gives it that nice classy workwear type touch that's so hot right now.

Oh Shacket!

Purchased this for my husband and he loves it. I ended up ordering him at XXL as this runs a little small and it fits him great. He is 6'3, 215, and shapes like a triangle. We purchased Navy and it looks good for every occasion!
