Tasty Curry

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

It's really easy to overdo it on the curry if you're not careful. But Katmandu Curry was spot on! Tasty, and not too outrageous. I'd definitely buy it again.

Curry, well not that kind.

This curry is quite good, but i should of taken into account it not a thai curry. lacked coconut for the gravy, in fact the gravy was more of a watery than thick creamy gravy. it felt like more of a jambalaya with eastern spices than a curry im use to.

    Highly recommend

This is really tasty, and it's a good way to mix it up if you always buy the same dehydrated meals. Not too spicy, but super flavorful.

Not my favorite camp mean, more of a meat and potatoes kinda guy. Super easy to prepare though.

Good texture and flavor. Would definitely buy again. Peas and carrots in there are actually very good.

    Flavorful and satisfying

I've tried a ton of different freeze dried meals from lots of companies. The Katmandu Curry from Backpacker's Pantry is one my regular choices. You can definitely tell you are not eating a fresh restaurant curry, I mean those freeze dried veggies can only do so much. But when I'm in the backcountry, this meal is so tasty and filling. I eat the whole thing or share 2 meals with a friend, as I'm usually famished after a long day of backpacking.

    awesome meal

great curry flavor without being too spicy. Tasty way to bring exotic flavors into the backcountry.

      Spice up your night

This meal is definitely one of my preferred meals by Backpackers Pantry. It's tasty and has a little kick to it!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

great meal it taste good and feels you up but i recommend mixing it a lot and letting it set for a extra 5 minuets

      Great go to camping food

Backpackers pantry knows what's up! These meals are easy to fix and also super tasty!! All you have to do is get your water to a roaring boil (I like to use my jet boil ) then you pour the water into the package stir seal and let sit for about 10-15 minutes! Then like magic it's ready to eat!!

        soooooo good

Other than chana masala this is my favorite dehydrated meal. Buy 50

          Great Variety

Having spent a few days in the backcountry, this was certainly a nice, tasty chance of pace from the more mainstream meals we had also brought along. Highly recommended.

            Yummm

These are simple to make and really aren't that bad. Backpackers Pantry is my go to for pre-made dehydrated food.

              Not bad at all.

I picked this up to change things up from the chicken and rice staples I always use. I love me some curry and this did not disappoint. I would recommend, as others have said, to stir it up really well! My spoon was kinda short and I didn't do a good enough job. The first serving was pretty bland, but then the second serving was super salty because I sucked at stirring.
I make a similar meal at home with lentils and veggies, so ingredient wise, this one was great.

              Stir it Up!

Curry! One of my favorites! You do have to stir any of these dinners up, it's just the "nature" of them ! :) So good, fulfilling, handy, and a must really !

                Good stuff

This is a really nice change from most of the other backpacking meals on the market. Its a little spicy and has really good flavor. I can split this with my wife and have a side and we will both be satisfied. This has been added to one of my go to backpacking meals.

                Pretty Good!

This meal was rather satisfying. Like some of the other reviews you have to make sure you stir this really good. I had a few bites that were very salty because it had most of the dry seasoning. Even with that being said it was very good. I enjoy Curry and it is awesome that I can bring it into the wilderness.

                  Yummy and vegetarian

                  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Finding yummy dried vegetarian food is not an easy task. This is delicious, even my meat-eating boyfriend enjoyed it.

As with all the backpacker's pantry products I've tried you REALLY have to stir it up to get good flavor consistency.

64 grams of dietary fiber in a package..

I took this on a mountaineering outing. I ate it it for dinner on the side of a glacier. It was only after I consumed the entire bag that I read the packaging and realized that it contained 250% of my daily fiber intake. 250%. 5 hours before ascending a glacier, tied to 3 other people.

Lesson learned: Try this at home first before eating an entire package on the side of a mountain.
