Beef Pho

I found this to be filling and tasty. I did not expect it to be like made from scratch so not disappointed. Many time freeze dried foods leave me with indigestion and this Beef Pho did not so it is on my list of foods to re-order.

    Substantial and Good

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I planned this for a dinner night while out camping and fishing with my dad and we were satisfied. It's a backcountry meal so I didn't have real high expectation in mind but was pleasantly surprised. This is a really large portion and the two of us put down a half each and finished feeling satisfied and not stuffed. After you add the seasoning there is a good bite to it, which if that's your thing you will love it!

    Spend your money on Ramen

This tasted nothing like Pho to me, and the noodles were not even close. I was fairly hungry and had a hard time eating half of it on a backpacking trip. I would not recommend this, even if Pho was not my expectation, this was a terrible "soup". Paying 20 cents for a package of Ramen would have been tastier, and a lot cheaper!
I DO recommend Backpacker's Pantry Stroganoff with Beef and Wild Mushrooms and the Chicken Teriyaki! I never go wrong with those!
