Suck it up, you don't hear your vest complaining.
For the climbers, the skiers, and the mountaineers, the explorers and the risk-takers, those not satisfied by vicarious adventures and a life without bloody knees—the backcountry.com Wayfarer Women's Down Vest is for you. Built to excel in rugged, uncompromising situations where clothing has to be more than a fashion statement, the Wayfarer packs 850-fill goose down into a featherlight Pertex Quantum shell, giving you a supremely warm, packable, and durable layering piece that might be tougher than you are. In addition to weighing roughly as much as your last breath, Pertex is wind- and down-proof, so you won't get shredded by icy breezes when you're traversing exposed ridges, or have to watch your insulation float away while you're gritting your teeth through the 12th pitch of the day (don't worry, the blood you leave behind will inspire the next climber, probably). The Wayfarer also boasts a water-repellant DWR coating, elastic handwarmer pockets and an internal security pocket, so you can focus on the next heinous posthole, hand jam, or jump turn without worrying about whether you stashed your keys securely.

Light and puffy!
This vest is perfect for a nice morning skin up and down the mountain or to wear to work...I did both! It was a mid 30 degree day out, so I wore the vest to ski uphill with some long johns underneath and it kept me warm and comfortable! Because I didn't sweat, I wore it right after to school!
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs small
Bought this vest as a gift, and the recipient loves it. Super comfortable, warm, and looks great. It's a vest, nothing super fancy, just simple and functional.
