Why We Built The Tricot Peak Tech Hoodie

A staple for endless bluebird park laps, day hikes along mountain ridges, and any given night on the town, the Tricot Peak Tech Hoodie is for weather that doesn't quite justify the full winter ensemble. We built it with a water-resistant, lightweight, and stowable design, making it a no-brainer to toss in the pack before heading out.

  • Tech hoodie offers stylish warmth for skiing or hiking in mild weather
  • Built-in neck gaiter and face mask boast UPF 50+ sun protection
  • Zippered shoulder vents quickly dump excess heat after hiking
  • Fixed hood helps seal out the evening’s chill and protects from wind
  • Zippered kangaroo pocket warms cold hands and stashes necessities
  • Hybrid construction is soft-to-the-touch for comfort
  • Slim fit is streamlined to move with you for enhanced mobility

Quality is a joke

Bought 2 since it was on sale for 70 each and I needed some some under layers when I go snowboarding. Had them for less than 2 months and the seams ripped under the arms for both of them!

    NOT Tech

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: M

There should be a rule against calling anything that is >50% Cotton “Tech,” or recommending using a cotton mix sweatshirt to go skiing. The design is 5 Stars. If this were in the Frary Fleece material, I’d buy three. So much potential. But it’s a cotton sweatshirt masquerading as a tech layer. Got wet - stayed wet.

    Feels cheap.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Xl

If this is what I should come to expect from backcountry brand I will avoid it all together. I have boughten better knock offs in Vietnam this being like a B+ fake if you have been. Runs small feels like this thing will last a month because of the cheap mesh for these useless chest vents. Not to mention the face mask material not terrible but not quality at all either porr stitching placement as well. All in all great for buyers remorse.

    Perfect Hoodie for Any environment

I love this hoodie. I'm 5'11, 175 and the medium fits perfectly. The fit is slim, so size up if you want a more roomie fit. This hoodie + a t-shirt kept me warm walking around the city in 50 degree weather with a slight breeze. I haven't used it for a hike yet, but I believe it will work fine. The pit zips do vent well and are easy to unzip. The kangaroo pockets are lined, which makes them very warm and comfortable. The extra zip pocket is great for keys or a moblie phone. I bought the black version and am considering buying a second in a different color, because it's so versatile.

The XXL is actually a large...

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small

Order this in XXL thinking it would be nice and big for putting layers underneath... wrong, wrong, wrong. I compared it with a couple XL hoodies I have and this thing isn't even close to that size. I understand that it says slim fit, but holy crap dude it's basically 2 sizes smaller. So dope that I get charged to return this turd as well. Won't be ordering from Back Country again.

    I’m a men’s large or XL with tri-blend tees, and the large fit me just right - I’m 5’11 and 175 🤷🏻‍♂️

I really like this - unique and functional. Also a nice color with the Caspian. Cool feature w/ the mask. Also nice branding on the side - I like the goat and even put the sticker on my Jeep. Glad I got it, definitely recommend.

Disclaimer: I was given this product by Bakcountry but all the opinions in this review are my own.

This is a really cool hoodie with some really cool features. From the built in neck gaiter to the shoulder vents, it really has a few features that make it an awesome addition to your wardrobe. I wore this all over Iceland while hiking and running. It was great to be able to pull up the neck gaiter when things got chilly and it was awesome to be able to open up the front shoulder vents when working up a sweat. They are in a cool location too if you like wearing a backpack because they sit right where the strap would be which prevents you from getting too sweaty there.

My only complaint is that the seam on the neck gaiter is right on the front in the middle. This makes it so that you can feel it on your nose when its pulled up which can be a little annoying. Otherwise its a very neat hoddie and great for active sports in the fall and winter.

    Pretty sweet

I'm a woman, and purchased a men's LG in Elderberry. Partly because the color is awesome and was also worried about the women's XL not being big enough to add layers (always cold) as it's a slim fit. Wear sz 14-16 depending, usually women's XL. Fit wise, I can comfortably wear 3 layers underneath, with enough room to swap one for a thick shirt instead when it gets proper cold. Probably could have gone a size down but may have been to tight across the chest. It's longer than most sweatshirts as it's got a wide flat hem at the bottom. The vents are super slick and nearly invisible when closed. Arm length and width probably perfect for men. I can fold the 2.5" cuff over flat and still have enough length to raise my arms without exposing my wrists. 2 separate pockets are rad. Little snug getting head through but if it wasn't, the sewn in face mask would probably wear out and not stay up on your face. I didn't realize until I was outside that there are no thumb holes in the sleeves like the women's which is a real bummer. Overall happy, may get the blue one a size down.

    Neck Gaiter

Wanted to love it so bad! It's a fantastic piece, pretty darn perfect for a light skiing layer.

I just wish that the neck gaiter wasn't sewn in--even if it had snaps or something so it could be removable it would make this piece so much more versatile.

    Great product

      This is a great product!

This hoodie fills a super specific need in the age of covid. I walk our dogs about six miles a day through rural NH but into town for a brief period. For the most part it's easy to socially distance--you can cross to the other side of the road from the limited foot traffic you meet. But even then, we're all polite enough to cover our faces. That's not the easiest task with a dog in each hand and headphones on. I was looking for a hoodie like this with the built-in neck gaiter. Makes it super easy to cover up, though it would not be suitable for indoor use. The zip-up pockets are good for carrying items you don't want falling out of pockets. And it's warm enough in cool temps, though not once you get to freezing and below.

      Comfort meets Function

This hoodie was designed for the terrain park rat hitting jumps at the resort. The DWR makes it great for those bluebird days between powder storms and the shoulder vents allow you to dump heat when catching the chairlift back up. Having a built in face cover is clutch, you'll no longer have to worry about forgetting one at home. Also has security zippers on all of the pockets so you don't have to go searching for your keys when you yard sale in front of everyone.
On top of all at it's a super comfy hoodie for lounging around the house in or chilling by the fire!

Measure from the crotch to the floor with no shoes.
