So Much More Than Climbing Pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These pants are amazing! From the fit (true to size) to the fabric its self I have fallen in love with these! The fabric is extremely comfortable and is ideal for both gym climbing and outdoor sending! I have been blown away with the functionality of the pant! They move really well for those big moves and the drawstrings at the ankles are especially great for getting a snug fit right where you want it! Ever since i got my first set i have had to go back for more! I have found that these are comfortable enough for everyday use and love the bronze colorway (true to the photo) they look professional and offer a comfort that i have not yet found with any other climbing pants.

I have not had any issues with durability with this item and have found that the fabric holds up well compared to other pants i have tried. Cant wait to take them out for a lap on Steort's ridge as soon as possible!

Fabric is not durable

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34

These pants are very comfortable, but the fabric is super delicate for something that's branded as a climbing pant. I haven't done anything more strenuous than sit through a conference call in these (thanks coronavirus), and yet the fabric is already starting to pull and fray.

Fabric is not durable

WOW! can't believe they'are blown out only from one OTPHJ.

WOW! can't believe they'are blown out only from one OTPHJ.

These do NOT run big.

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

My husband wears a 31 in pants and if that isn't available we go with the 32, but after reading all the reviews about people sizing down because how huge these are I bought the 30 for him. These 30's are so tiny he can't even button them. Buy your true size guys. So frustrating.

So you gave a bad review because they are true to size???

Summer weight pant

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I am super disappointed in this pant. .. for the price it was not any better than some discount store pants. Maybe others like it but it was not what I expected. Super light weight... you would freeze in the winter!!

Finally, a climbing pant that fits!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I've tried several different climbing pants, and they're usually too tight on my legs, hips and butt. I did Crossfit for 4yrs and competed in Powerlifting for a year before discovering climbing. I'm a larger guy at 6'2 230. These pants fit perfectly. I haven't climbed in them yet, but they seem to move well. I'm curious as to why there aren't more colors available, but I'll definitely be buying another pair.

Hi Garret - Glad you like these pants! This was introduced as our spring climbing pant and will have new color options for spring 20 (march) with some slight feature-set updates.

Great Climbing and Daily Pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32

These pants are awesome! Love the feel of the fabric and it stretches perfectly to allow for full range of motion. Great pant for pretty much any situation, from climbing in the canyons or at the gym to even just wearing around the house doing chores. The drawstrings at the ankles are especially great for getting a snug fit around your shoes so you stay nice and warm as the weather gets colder. Would highly recommend getting these!

Great fit for muscular dudes

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I often have a hard time finding pants that fit nicely over my legs and booty (I mean, clearly I do CrossFit). These pants are great; great fit and feel! They sorta feel like butter on the skin. Elastic stretch to the material but not too much. I know these are climbing pants but hey, I don’t climb. Will wear them for other activities; buying another color soon! I am a true 32 waste and these fit perfectly. Well done back country.

Thanks! Based on your comment, I purchased these pants and finally found a climbing pant that fits my legs, hips and butt.

Great pants, weird sizing

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 30

These are super soft and comfortable pants. I had a few gripes when I tried them on the first time, but ultimately I never even noticed them at all (imo the mark of good activewear) when climbing.
Pros:
1) Way more comfy/soft than the Zions I bought these to supplement for laundry days
2) Cordura blends are awesomely durable and still soft
3) Elastic cords around ankles help make up for fit issues

Cons:
1) Way too long for what I'd expect from the waist sizing, but with the elastic drawstrings it's been totally fine while climbing
2) Baggier than I'd like, but to be fair, once I was climbing I didn't notice them at all. When you're high-stepping you really don't want to have to waste energy stretching tight fabric anyway.

Overall I'm still really into them. Haven't taken them outside yet, but I think they'd be less scratchy feeling than Zions.

Just bad fabric - odor, heat attractant

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Medium

The only good thing about these pants light and pockets are decent. Everything else - feels hot, I sweat bullets, and the fabric is not odor resistant. I’ve stopped believing in outdoor gear produced made by retailers like backcountry and REI.

Great climbing pants

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 30 regular

These pants are great, super mobile, soft durable fabric, and don't make any swishy sounds. I got them for my brother as a gift and he loves them, his only complaint is they run a bit big in the waist. He has been a 32 his whole life and we had to return them and get a 30. Otherwise, great fit.

No Swish Swish

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32

Climbing pants have the best range. From corduroy slacks, to swimming trunks! You can pretty much climb in anything. I have pants specifically for gym (which are baggy, tough, and really breathable) and for outdoor expeditions (strong, light, and fitting). These pants are the perfect in-between love child! I'm wearing them at the desk while I work, and then I can go climb gym or crag right after and still have these suckers on! They fit me like a dream which is not an understatement. I'm 6'3", 190, and these fit perfectly. They are breathable, stretchy, and look great. I need more color options and then I'll make these my default pants for life.

Like nothing is there!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 30

These pants are rad. I've gone through a few pairs from different brands and have never been all that stoked. These are super soft, durable and lightweight. The cinched bottoms are great for staying out of the way of those precariously placed feet. I usually wear a 31 and the 30s fit great.

Casual climbing pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34"

While not as trim as too many of the climbing pants out there the fit is nice for mobility. With a fabric thats a nice blend of OR Ferrosi and Arc'teryx Fortius in terms of stretch and durability.
I really like the fit! As a taller person its hard to find pants that have a long enough inseam while still fitting at the waist. These are going to be a great pant for all season climbing while being stylish enough that they don't stand out like some climbing pants stand out.

Pros: Large pockets that don't get in the way while wearing a harness. The cinch on the leg is great and easy to use.

Cons: The rear pockets could really use a zipper for a climbing pant. Could use an additional belt loops.

The Steort pants are a good option for folks looking for a well featured climbing pant that stand out for casual use also.

Cozy as!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: L

I've only had the opportunity to use these in the gym so far, but as rising temps are tempting me outside I think they will become a staple. The fabric is super stretchy, comfy, and doesn't stay damp when I start to sweat. Another plus is the zippered thigh pocket that is harness compatible. Lastly, the fabric seems to hold its shape better than other techy type fabrics, that can loose their elasticity between washes.

Re: sizing. I am not sure if at 6'4" and 200lbs that I would be a L or XL in other brands, but the L fits me nicely.

awesome pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

These pants were extremely comfortable, and got me quite a few compliments when I wore them into the office after climbing in the morning. I really like the zip pocket for my cell phone, and the cinches at the hem worked great. I disagree with a prior reviewer that these were baggy - maybe he just has really skinny legs? These fit me great.

awesome pants

Good idea

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: S/30

Pros:
-Very soft and pleasant to touch
-Allegedly durable fabric (for climbing)
-Very stretchy.

Cons:
-Description - there is no way this is even anywhere close to slim fit. Not even regular. These pants are baggy, period.
-Description - If you're selling a product marked as generic "S/30", you should really attach a size chart when your merch has almost 33" inseam(measured), that is in no way small and regular for "small" and 30-waists.

I was really impressed with the material, so i really tried liking and keeping them. Literally spent over an hour playing with cuffs, to make them work somehow... anyhow, every time I ended up looking like Aladdin and pants as if human leg is sticking out of babboon's butt :(

Sadly, returning these. If sizing was not so badly messed up, i'd prefer these for climbing over Prana Zion, Brion and Ocun Manias.

Great pants, but didn't fit

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Medium

These pants were nice in design and I ordered a pair of black M the last week. But sadly I had to return them the next day. The inseem for Medium is about 32-33 inches, so the pants draped over my feet. I wish these came with a 30 inseem. Maybe I just couldn't luck out and the Smalls were all sold.

To and From

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 32

I love pants that I can wear for a multitude of different things. Plus a nice pair of black pants are hard to find. These are a great fit, nice look, and will hold up to all the fun things I like to do.
