Great Fit - Fresh Color

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I'm very happy with this design from Backcountry. I'm about 5, 10' and the small fits me very well. I have enough room for layering, but it looks form fit and all the seams hit me in the right places. I went for the orange 'fiesta' color. It's bright, but has a sophisticated hue that you don't see a lot in down jackets. Zips and pockets are quality. Hood fits like they designed it for my head.

Great down jacket!

This is a great value for a very warm , durable down jacket. I got it for my brother for Christmas as he and I love anything camo print. He has remarked several times on how warm it is for how light it is. He also likes the athletic fit. He is a pretty muscular dude , and falls between a medium and large, so I went large so it wouldn’t be tight in the shoulders or chest, and it fits great!

Great down jacket!

Sweet!

I'm biased, because I'm on the team that helped create these, but this is just a great, everyday warm jacket for running errands, walking outside the office here in Park City on snowy days to get coffee, or just going for an easy hike. I've layered this under a 3-layer waterproof shell on a cold ski day as well and it kept me warm and cozy. Bought one for my brother too and he's loving it in the cold and windy Kansas City winter. This has an athletic fit - which looks great on, however it does run slightly small in the shoulder so if you have big shoulders you may need to size up.

The Silver Fork is great. I have had similar down jacket from Patagonia, Outdoor Research, Rab, and Arc'teryx over the years and the Silver Fork fits right in with the others i have had. I have not had any issues with Down migration or shedding which is great and the face fabric is a nice weight and it seems like it will hold up to years of use.

Very warm

Gave as a present to my brother. The first thing he commented on was how warm this jacket is. Picked up the size small for him he's 5'4" about 130lbs it fit him pretty well, maybe slightly larger which means he's got room for baselayers.

So warm!

I bought this puffy in a size large for my boyfriend who is 5'10'', 170 lbs and it looks great. He wears it everywhere and cannot believe how warm it is. On those sunny cold days, he will wear it as an outer layer and if it's freezing/snowy he will wear it as a mid layer with a shell over it.

The jacket claims to have 750 fill power, but what is the fill weight of this jacket? As fill power to fill weight will be the combination for how warm this jacket will be.

Thanks.

Hey there! You're totally right. The fill weight varies by size of the jacket and our medium has 126g and large has 134g for reference. What size are you planning to order? I can make sure we get you the fill weight.
