Oksfjord Down Parka - Women's. Black, XL

Bought it for my Mom last year, November.. runs too small/true to size.. wish it was roomier. Don't like the magnets on the hood. Nice jacket otherwise though!

Perfect for a trip to Alaska!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

We’re glacier hiking during a cruise to Alaska and this was perfect! Fits perfectly, warm without being bulky and is so slimming. Love this coat!

The zipper is the only thing.

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I love the fit ,the warmth, the movability of this coat! I live in the Midwest and I do outside recess duty each day. This coat provided everything I had hoped for in those times during the coldest of days!!! I will say I really struggled with the zipper until I figured out how to make it work. It was important to have the coat not bent up when zipping. That's a bit hard with its length. But once I figured that out .. it zipped each time no problem. It was WORTH figuring that out as I am a bit cranky if I am too cold and this just warmed my soul!!!! The length was perfect and I felt like I had the warmest sleeping bag on:) I am surprised at how many people returned this before even trying it!! It is light weight.. which allows it to be SO moveable.. but it is SUPER warm! Take it from a frozen chick.. this coat ROCKS!!!

Don't understand the hate

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I will say no this is not the warmest coat, but it is not under their heavy weight winter coat section so there is that.. it is long and plenty warm. This coat is a great A to B coat. You do not take this out into the woods and galacant around. For the price of this on sale it is a good coat. I love how long it is and I love that I don't freeze mt butt off going to work at -20°. This coat is thinner than I expected that part only surprised me a little, but I read all reviews before I purchased this. I thought I was going to swim in it, but I'm not. I love the length and sleeves.

Super warm!

Familiarity:

The jacket is super warm & stylish. I took off one star because the zipper quality is not great ( I typically buy Burton, Patagonia & Stio). The magnets on the hood are a little odd & become on hooked sometimes. Overall it?s what I was looking for!

Nice jacket, too thin

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I was looking for extra long down parka to cover below my knees for those windy snowy days. I was disappointed with I opened the package: this parka has nice design and good length, however, it is TOO THIN for an extra-long parka. It just doesn?t make sense: anyone who buys a coat this long most probably would want a solid coverage for windy and freezing weather. The down fill for this coat is more appropriate for 30~40 degree weather.

Useless hood ruins it!

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

This jacket is beautiful. Great length. Incredible warmth to weight ratio. Nice cuffs inside the sleeves to keep the wind out. And then they go and ruin it with the design of the detachable hood. There is a zipper on the back side of the neck area and the sides flap around loosely unless the hood it up and then there are small weak magnets that pull the sides of the hood together with the coat. Small weak magnets that then detach with the smallest head movement and have to be reattached every time you put the hood up or move with the hood up. Even when the magnets are attached there is an open gap between the hood and jacket on both sides of the hood where wind can come through. This design flaw is beyond me. Why make a 750 fill shin length down jacket that is obviously meant for extra cold wear and then a detachable hood that cannot stay in place!? I would have kept this otherwise and am super bummed because besides the useless hood, the jacket is awesome. The search continues?.

perfect

I love this parka. I got the green/black color and it?s awesome. I?ve gotten tons of compliments! I live in Minneapolis so I understand being cold and this thing is SUPER warm but also very light weight. I replaced my Canada Goose parka with this parka because it?s so much less bulky but just as warm because of the longer length. Win win.
