    Goodro Chalk Bag

Established in 1949, Goodro's Wall was the first 5.10 climb before 5.10 was even a thing. Local legend has it that Goodro even climbed the route in cowboy boots. He didn't have climbing shoes or even Backcountry's Goodro Chalk Bag to help him get this historical first ascent. If you ever visit Backcountry's backyard to rock climb, Goodro's Wall should be high up on your list, and if you do climb it—word of advice—be sure to chalk up before pulling the roof, because it's pumpy the rest of the way no matter how hard you climb.

    • Backcountry's own chalk bag for route climbing
    • Fleece-lined interior is soft against your battered hands
    • Shockcord closure keeps chalk from spilling out
    • Includes removable waist belt to save space on your harness

    Great bag

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've had a few chalk bags trying to find the right one for me, and so far this is my favorite. There's a nice softness to the bag that makes it easily accessible on a route. I've had bags that are too stiff that I find harder to use, so this is a huge plus. It's also a bit bigger than other bags I've had but not too big to hang on a harness. The cinch is the best too, it keeps the chalk in, unlike other bags that spill out even when closed.

My one sadness is that the waist belt was not removable. It says it is, but I couldn't figure it out, so I had to cut it because I like having it on a carabiner when I top rope. Can't knock a star though, so that's mostly a heads up.

    does what its intended...nothing more

I'm new to rock climbing world and accumulating a few of the necessities. Simple design that delivers. Materials and construction seem appropriate for lots of use and abuse.

    Great bag!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This bag is awesome, however I don’t actually use it for chalk. I’m training a service dog and use it as treat storage when out on walks and in public places. Works perfectly!

    Great Chalk Bag

This is a great chalk bag. It's inexpensive and is a great choice for a simple chalk bag. Cinches well so it doesn't leak at all.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This bag has a nice, wide opening for easy chalking up between moves. It also cinches down nice and tight so you don't lose any chalk when you're not using it (I've had other chalk bags lack in this area).
