Escape to the trail.

When you're scrambling for a singletrack escape, slip yourself into the Backcountry Women's Full Suspension Short before embarking on epic rides across remote mountains or taking post-work laps through the local forest preserve. This classic pair of trail baggies emphasizes riding mobility and comfort with its articulated patterning, meaning it's neither overly baggy like some gravity-inspired apparel nor skin-tight in fit like you'd find on an XC racer.

We construct the Full Suspension Short from a double weave fabric that feels lightweight, dries quickly, and sits smoothly against your skin, as to prevent irritation on longer rides. This double weave fabric stretches in all directions for unencumbered mobility, regardless if you're muscling up a steep climb in the mountains or ripping across smooth-buffed forest trails.

To maintain a secure, slip-free fit, we integrate a webbing waist adjuster and use an aluminum hook to secure these shorts around your hips. The gusseted crotch allows you to pedal swiftly and throw your bike around corners without restriction holding you back. Additional noteworthy features include a cargo pocket for convenient storage of your trail necessities, as well as mesh-lined hand pockets that dry quickly, should you get these shorts soaked after a recent rainfall.

Perfect cc mtb and touring shorts

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

these backcountry full suspension shorts are great for wearing all day, on the mountain or commuting, and in any weather. The high back and simple side adjustment is crucial for custom fit and no back showing while riding. I have a small waist, wide hips, and sprinter thighs and they are very comfortable, yet not baggy toward the knee. Cut well! I find myself wearing them around the house on hot days they're so comfy. Considering getting a second pair, would be nice if they came in multiple colors!

Finally women's bike shorts that look go

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I couldn't believe that mountain biking shorts could actually be cute. I'm used to shorts being too boxy, unflattering but these are so sleek and perform great. They are like Lululemon mountain biking shorts. I could wear these to lunch after a ride no problem.

Favorite MTB Shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These shorts are great! They are shorter than a lot of other MTB shorts, so the look is more flattering. The fit is comfortable and comfortable material. I bought a size medium. I'm usually between a 6 and 8 but often times will size up for active wear to be more comfortable. The medium fits great, not too tight or loose.

Comfortable

Comfortable and stretchy trail-shorts for long trails, especially on hot days.

Cool Trail shorts

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I haven't put these through the wringer yet, so I will max out at 4 stars, until I do.

These are definitely for the trail, though I have used them for downhill. The leg tapers and it has a shorter length, which is what you want when you are climbing uphill all day. The fabric breathes well, which also helps keep you cool on the climb.

I like the pocket placements and the subtle side pocket. It can fit most phones or little snacks. The hook and loop on the waist is interesting. I didn't think I'd love it, but it actually works really well, so I honestly can't complain.

I'm a schmedium. But, the medium is good enough with these. I have to use the tightest waist option, but the thighs on the small would be too tight. So, I'm really glad I got the medium.

These shorts do not disappoint!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Love these short in every way possible. They are slightly stretchy and quick drying. The length is perfect and they are as flattering as cycling shorts can be. They are roomy enough to wear padded undies with. I am 5’5”, 150ish and the medium is a perfect fit.

4 Way Stretch, Heck Yes

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Ok so I'm pretty short - short, athletic legs, curvy hips, long torso, small waist. Finding bottoms that aren't too big in the waist, too tight in the QUAD-zillas and/or a super awkward length is a constant challenge for me. THAT being said, these shorts fit! I wasn't sure how I'd feel about how short they were, but they were surprisingly flattering on. They fell an inch or two above my knee. When I rode, they did ride up as all shorts do, but they weren't tight or restricting in any way. Four way stretch FOR THE WIN. I had the waist cinched most of the way and had no issue with a gaping space in the back. Breathability was spot on, too. The sleek, clean black is my jam. I didn't feel any weird seams rubbing. Super comfortable and practical.

My new favorite biking shorts!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Unlike most women, I do not have an hourglass torso. This means that shorts that give room for the butt and taper in at the waist never fit. The fact that Backcountry made a pair of biking shorts that fit my body type is a miracle. Please make more pants/shorts for women with my body type! I love being able to wear these shorts without having a "saggy butt" and muffin top. These make me look good!

My new favorite biking shorts!

What size did you get? We are about the same size and I would order what you have. Thanks!

Great for women that mountain bike!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These shorts are super comfortable with the adjustable waist and stretchy material. They are also more feminine than other "baggies" because they are a little shorter. The mesh pockets and cargo pocket can hold pretty much anything you would want to take with you on a 1 hour ride! They are going to be used on almost every ride this summer!

Great for women that mountain bike!

Great Fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Mountain biking shorts have been hit or miss for me. They're either too long, too baggy, or the waist construction is way off and leaves a huge gap in the back. I found these shorts to be perfect. I'm 5'2" and the length was great and fell above the knee. The shorts were also slimmer through the thigh than other MTB shorts I've tried so they looked more flattering but still leaves room if you like to wear knee pads. Lastly, the waist adjustment feature is spot on. On the first adjustment there was a gap in the back but once I tightened it to the 2nd adjustment it was perfect and it laid flat and stayed put.

Too long for me

First things first, I am 5'3" and 110 pounds. I ordered a small, but should have gotten an XS because there is quite a bit of space in the waist. I love the fit on my legs though with this size, they aren't too tight. Super flattering on my legs. They are also a little too long for my sorter proportions, but I know that'll help with coverage. Overall I really like the material idea of the shorts, I just need to size down and hopefully the other problems will love themselves! Will update review once I am able to try them out!
