The Backland 117 Ski is Atomic's widest backcountry ski, and it tracks up steep skin tracks as well as it floats down deep powder. It has that uncanny combination of feeling light on the ascent and charging hard when it's time to reap what you sow. A Powder Rocker includes rocker in the tip and tail for playing in powder, while the camber underfoot ensures edge control whenever you come across variable snow. HRZN Tech adds 10% more surface area to the tip to help you stay afloat on the descent and ascent. Atomic made the ski out of beech and poplar woods for lightness, and a carbon backbone beefs up the stiffness to ski aggressively. Full sidewalls finish this powder plank for durability and the torsional rigidity required to rip down steep aprons.
