Good for basic snowshoeing

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are great snowshoes for basic snowshoeing but wouldn't recommend them for anything with more than a slight incline. They are light enough to carry backpacking and are easy to get on and off but the straps don't like to stay in the clip. I kept stepping on the excess straps because of this and almost tripped myself a few times. The heel lift bar is nice when going up hill but the spikes just aren't as aggressive as I was hoping. I used them to summit Mt. St Helens via the worm flows in March and struggled a bit with traction on some of the steeper inclines (which is my own fault for not having crampons). Overall these are pretty great snowshoes.

Durable, lightweight, and floaty. Great grip/traction, and great straps. I love the color, too!
