Declivity X Ski - 2022

When Armada set out to make a revolutionary big-mountain ski, they decided to look to some of the biggest mountains for influence. Born in the steep couloirs of Chamonix, the new Decilivity X has been refined to do one thing—ski the unimaginably steep with long arcing turns at ludicrous speeds. When we first got our hands on the Declivity X, the first word that came to mind was “burly”. The hybrid Caruba core, long turn radius, and conservative tail rocker immediately give the ski a dedicated big-mountain feel, placing the ski in this modern category of specialty skis that are intended to bring freeride flavor to the spicy spine lines, exposed faces, and tight couloirs.

These features amount to a ski that differentiates itself from the skis that Armada typically has to offer, placing the Declivity X among skis that you would typically see at big mountain competitions thanks to the stiff and damp qualities that the full sidewall construction and hybrid Caruba core provide. Paired with generous tip rocker, the ski’s stability is matched with maneuverability which makes it excellent even when the conditions are less-than-stellar, despite the wide 115mm waist.
