ArmadaChapter Gore-Tex Jacket - Men's

A new chapter.

Ask any resort-working powder-hound about skiing and they'll regale you with a long-winded story about the magical day that they decided to drop everything to chase winter. While your horizons change and your transient, seasonal friends slip in and out of your tumultuous life, your Armada Men's Chapter Gore-Tex Jacket will be your constant on the road to adventure.

A bomber Gore shell with killer style!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Small

All and all I think this is a perfect shell for most days on the mountain,. I have skied wet spring slush, fluffy powder storms, bluebird days, and just about everything else in this jacket. The 2-layer Gore-Tex membrane has kept me dry in even the deepest conditions and vents the excess heat like a champ when things start to warm up on the mountain. If that's not enough just tear open the covered pit zips and you will be cooled down in no time. I am beyond impressed with the durability of the shell, as it has seen more than a few tree branches without a scratch.
As with most gear from Armada this jacket comes loaded with the premium steeze, and style you would expect, but runs on the larger size of the spectrum. I went with a small (I'm typically between a small and medium in most jackets) and it is still plenty roomy if not a bit loose in the arms and overall length. Which is perfect for skiing and boarding really. The only complaint I would have is on the zipper pulls, they are a cheap string that is just looped through the end of the zipper tab and tied in an overhand knot. I have already lost a few of them due to just coming untied and falling off. I realize this is small pickings, but definitely matters on a Nice ski jacket that you will likely be wearing gloves with 90% of the time. Should be a very easy fix for the good folks up at Armada in Park City. As I mentioned in the first sentence, I think this a a perfect Gore-Tex shell for most days on the mountain, in resort or out.
