hybrid merino & nylon shirt!

In the process of phasing out my synthetic hiking shirts for merino wool ones. Intrigued by Arcteryx's description of Nucliex fabric - which is merino wool strands wrapped around a nylon core, which is supposed to enhance the durability of the fabric. The shirt feels made from regular merino wool. Does not itch. Wore it out for a hike in 30 dec C hot and humid weather. The shirt wicks like a typical merino shirt would. Shirt dries fast under air-conditioning - odor resistance comes naturally. Fabric weight seems to be similar to Icebreaker 150. I will "baby" this shirt more since it is the most expensive hiking shirt i have right now. Only time will tell if its durable enough for a several weeks long backpacking trip

    seems like a rather delicate fabric -one for the office rather than the bush. finer than any icebreaker garment i have owned. had hoped the blend would actually represent an improvement on durability...
