Arc'teryx Fission Gore-Tex Mitten

Don't risk cold hands.

Skiing and snowboarding well above treeline demands a pair of gloves that won't leave your hands cold and wet when the stakes are high. The Arc'teryx Fission Gore-Tex Mittens are built to keep your hands warm, dry, and stoked for another run thanks to a smart design and top-shelf components.

A Gore-Tex XCR membrane prevents moisture from creeping through when the snow is deep, and it maintains a high level of breathability, so you can leave them on when you're hiking to that big line patrol is about to drop the rope on. To keep them breathable, the face fabric is comprised of Arc'teryx's Forius 1.0 stretch softshell fabric, while leather reinforcements at the palm and fingers ensure hard-wearing durability. If lack of dexterity has turned you away from mittens in the past, then leave your preconceived notions at the door when you look the Fissions over. Arc'teryx doubled up the insulation along the back of the hand to keep them super warm where you need it most, then used PrimaLoft Gold insulation with Grip Control at the palm, which is a denser insulation that helps reduce bulk, maintain insulation once compressed, and increase the overall dexterity.

Great dexterity and fit and finish

I'm hoping these to be as warm as their insulation indicates, but it's too warm here still. That being said these mitts are super light, great fitting, and more articulated than any other pair I have tried. Everything you need, nothing you don't so usual Arc'teryx deal. Fair price in my mind for an xcr insert mitt, just hoping the insulation lives up to its description.
