Fleece made for getting vertical.

Low-tech gear won't cut it on technical climbs, but the Arc'teryx Zoa Women's Hooded Fleece sure will. A lightweight, stretchy, and trim hoodie, the Zoa moves moisture away from your skin and helps cut the chill when you're high up on the wall or at the crag in the wee hours. The ScubaHood fits easily under a helmet, the thumbholes keep your wrists warm and your sleeves in place, and the zippered pockets keep your hands warm when you're back on the ground.

  • Stretchy polyester fleece
  • Helmet-compatible ScubaHood
  • Moisture wicking and breathable
  • 1/2-length front zipper
  • Thumbholes
  • Zippered hand pockets

My new favorite layer

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I just got this and wore it on a backpacking trip in the Eastern Sierras. Temperatures ranged from sunny and upper 50s/low 60s during the day to very windy and low 30s at night/early morning. It is brushed so it feels very soft. It is fitted but not restrictively so, there's room to breathe. The thumbnails kept my hands warm and the fitted hood kept my neck, head, ears and forehead warm. It was perfect for daytime. I was able to wear it backpacking without overheating. At night, it kept me toasty and warm. The bright yellow color really pops in photos which is just an added bonus. I LOVE this piece.

Will this fit over a merina wool base layer?

Hey Monica - This Zoa Hooded Fleece should fit easily over a Merino base layer but know that it is a trim fit. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.
