Trino Jacket

It may not feel that chilly outside when you first hit the trail, but as soon as the clouds roll in and the wind picks up, it gets pretty cold in a hurry. Be ready for rapidly changing conditions with the Arc'teryx Trino Jacket. WindStopper fabric on the chest and arms block heat-robbing wind, and the fabric is water-resistant as well to keep you dry if you get caught in an unexpected drizzle or snow flurry. Stretch knit jersey on the back and underarms maintains breathability to allow heat and moisture to escape from the inside out, and it's stretchy for freedom of movement on the trail. An athletic cut keeps the fabric close to your skin for maximum warmth and moisture management, and a drawcord hem prevents chilly drafts from blowing in.

  • Versatile, windproof jacket for running in mixed conditions
  • Gore Windstopper fabric blocks chilly gusts for warmth on the trail
  • DWR treatment beads and repels light moisture from surprise storms
  • Breathable stretch fabric in key areas offers unrestricted mobility
  • Trim fit for streamlined performance on more technical trails
  • Brushed collar lining is soft against the chin and neck for comfort
  • Reflective details enhance visibility in low-light conditions
  • Arc'teryx designs its products with a less is more mentality

Nicely made but with functional flaws.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Small

Thought I would use this jacket for both winter running and road cycling. Back pockets looked suitable for cycling. Tried it on, fit and finish were nice so I removed the tags to keep. Have worn it for 5 runs in 25F-33F temps. Blocks the wind very well but I do not find it to breath well. Finished all 5 runs very moist and uncomfortable under the jacket. Today I ran a trail that had a few overhanging briar thorns and was very disappointed to find several thread pulls on the jacket afterwards. It seemed tough enough to take a few small thorns, but was not. I have a very expensive and nicely made jacket that moves well does not perform up to my expectations for an Arcteryx product.

Well made, form fitting

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

The Trino is a clean finish form fitting jacket. The quality is great from every aspect.

Fit: This jacket runs very trim; fits like a size smaller through the body while the back, front and sleeve length is perfect. If you're looking for a looser daily wear then size up from traditional Arcteryx sizing. The fit is for thin, runner type shapes. If you're broader in the shoulders and body then size up.

Durability: Repels rain but not 100% windproof.

Look: Nice, clean finish that transitions from daily use to long days outside.

Best Running Jacket he's ever had!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: L

Gave as a gift to my father in law who is still a triathlete at 70+. 1st time with Arcteryx jackets for him, and he was thrilled! Best running jacket he's ever had hands down. He took it right out on a rainy December morning run in Michigan and it kept him warm and dry.

This is a confusing comment Alex P. A size large would be extremely long on someone that is 5'-9". I am 5'-8", wear a small, and my biggest complaint is that the sleeves are so long they get in the way of my hands.
A man that is 5' -9"/190 lbs/70+ sounds almost superhuman to take the punishment of a triathlon!

best cold weather running jacket

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I love this jacket because..... I love, more than anything, to run in cold weather preferably on snow covered trails. I live in an area with crazy constant cold wind. This jacket is incredible. it seriously keeps you warm while never being bulky. It is fantastic because it protects you from wind in the front due to the windstopper material and lets you vent in the back of your body while providing great storage room in the back pockets. If you are a serious outdoor runner or enthusiast this is as good as it gets.

True to what size, man?

    How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
    Chest:
With arms relaxed at your sides, measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your bust/chest.
    Waist:
Measure around your waist at the narrowest part.
    Hip:
Standing with feet hip width apart, measure around your hips at the widest part.
    Inseam:
From standing position, measure from your crotch to your ankle.
    Sleeve:
With arm relaxed at your side and slightly bent, measure from center back neck, across shoulder to elbow and down to wrist.
    Crotch to Floor:
With bare feet, measure from your crotch down the inside leg to the floor.
*Actual inseam length will vary depending on what Arc'teryx deemed suitable for end use footwear.
