    DO NOT ORDER FROM BACKCOUNTRY

This is my second jacket i've ordered from Backcountry, and unless you want a defective item that is stained, buy it somewhere else! I ordered two different colors (First one red, and was defective - dirty). I sent it back. Ordered another one, same thing.

      DO NOT ORDER FROM BACKCOUNTRY

Same thing happened to me with the red color! Dark stains all over. Huge bummer. Now I have to pay return shipping for something that shouldn't be sold in the first place.

      Great jacket, color off

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: L

This jacket is beautiful, a great cut, flattering and curvy in the right places. A bit long. Great weight- very warm but lightweight enough for fall/spring. Runs small. I’m definitely a medium and in order to fit anything under it, needed a Large. My issue is with color. The Whiskey Jack looks great online but is a bit dull in person. I expected a rich purple-red-brown, almost black from the pic on model. But it’s more like a faded purple, like a gray-grape color. I don’t mind it I guess, might keep- but just know it’s not quite so rich of a color as you’re seeing online. Otherwise a great layer. I’d buy again.

      Almost perfect

Warm, lightweight, and snug (go up a size if you want to layer.

        Very Warm, Very Fragile

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: Runs small
        • Size Bought: M

Leaking some feathers at the seams after the first few uses, and has a hole in the wrist seam. Sleeves are nice and long, but chest is tight on bigger bust (normally M fits perfect in all jackets) Overall it's very comfortable, and warm, just finding it to be a fragile material.

Faulty Item/ Backcountry Would Not Help

After a few weeks of use, the zipper broke. I contacted Backcountry and was told they could not help me. To contact Arc'teryx directly. Arc'teryx's website has a very involved process and it notes 3-5 weeks for a response to an inquiry. I decided to return and will not be purchasing from Backcountry agian.

          Love Arc'teryx but very disappointed

          • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
          • Fit: Runs small

Love Arc'teryx, but extremely disappointed in this one. Purchased the Dynasty color (red). Everything was perfect BUT...The down filling that was used had black feathers mixed with the white which you could see through the red color. The fabric is thin so it makes the jacket look like there is stains on it.

If this was a black jacket, no big deal, but at this price point, you would expect a lot more.

Sending back, and to top it off, I have to pay for the return going back for a defect that was not my fault.

Super disappointed in the entire experience. Not recommended.

I can see the down through the fabric

I really loved the color and shape of this jacket but I can see the dark down through the fabric. Sending it back and I'm very annoyed they don't offer free returns. I'm not shopping from here again.

          Perfect lightweight warm jacket

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
          • Fit: True to size
          • Size Bought: Large

I've been thinking about buying this jacket for a few years. It's pricey so I did a lot of research (and waiting in my old jacket).
If you're looking for a good warmth to weight ratio this is it.
It's super comfy. Designed to be somewhat fitted.
I was disappointed in the color though. I got the rhapsody thinking it was maroon/dark red; it's definitely purple.

          Like wearing a sleeping bag

I got this jacket for my wife as a birthday gift. She gets cold very easily so she was super impressed on how warm this jacket was for the weight! She also loved the cut of the waist. Another great product from Arc'Teryx!

Beautiful Picture. Thanks for the info too

This jacket is super warm and comfortable, but after wearing it a couple times to and from work, the down is already coming out of the seams and there is a hole in the sleeve. I bought this jacket because the material was suppose to be more durable than other down jackets, but it is very fragile after a couple wears. I would recommend looking at another jacket

          Changed fit this year

          • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
          • Fit: Runs small
          • Size Bought: M

I’m disappointed that Arcteryx changed the fit of this jacket. I have two others from previous seasons that fit perfect. This fit in the torso now is very tight. I’m 5’3” usually a size 4-6 and the medium was tight in the chest and back with just a Tshirt. I ordered the large instead. Hopefully it’ll work but I think that Arcteryx should revert back to the original fit.

Thank you SO much for leaving this comment. We're about the same size and I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on a size medium so this was incredibly helpful!

          LOVE Arc"Teryx - Too Small

          • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
          • Fit: Runs small
          • Size Bought: m

I've had ski gear from Arc"Teryx for over a decade, it's built to last. Usually I wear a medium, but got a down coat from them in a large so I could layer more, which is too big for my daughter. I bought this coat for my daughter in a medium (13 - 5'-5.5", 115lbs), I needed a little room growing. It's fitted on her body, with absolutely no room to grow in length or sleeves. Have to return, but sadly they don't have the next size up in the color she wants. Bummer. It's a great product, I'm just offering this review to help others figure out their fit. If you want really fitted for the activity you're doing, great, if you need room to layer, size up.

          Killer piece, as always!

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Fit: True to size
          • Size Bought: XS

I bought this for my partner to replace the exact same jacket that was starting to leak feather from too many holes. The old one had many patches and was well-loved but she liked the new color so she moved on to the new season's model.

The exact same quality as the previous model from 4 years ago. Her go-to piece for a ski mid-layer, casual outer-layer, wearing around the house, etc. She pairs this with the Beta SV and the Beta SL of the same size.

Fit's true to size but I think the Iliad color is a bit greener than it shows up as in the pics.

          Sizing is way off

          • Fit: Runs small
          • Size Bought: medium

I just got this coat last night and the sizing is way off. I ordered a medium and I cant even zip it. I am 5'6 and 140, well within the medium sizing. Returning, I am ordering a different brand instead.

          Runs Small

          • Fit: Runs small
          • Size Bought: Small

Ordered a small, I wear a S in most tops, 5’3” 130 lbs 34A bust and it’s tight in the chest and at the waist. Returning to get a medium. Otherwise, very lightweight and love the bushwack color!

Sizing Definitely Snug in the Bust

          • Fit: Runs small
          • Size Bought: Small then Medium

I am 5'4" and weigh 110 pounds soaking wet. I ordered my regular size SMALL and had to return because it was super snug over my breasts even when I was wearing only a thin T-shirt. The MEDIUM I subsequently ordered fits fine though I wish the hood fit a little more snugly. At least it fits okay in the shoulders; I was afraid they would be too wide for me. It is super warm and very lightweight so I think I am going to be loving it! Size up if you have any breasts to speak of!

Wife had the same problem... medium fit perfectly except the bust. 5'6", 140 lbs. Stepped up to the large, and it's just way too big on her (sleeves too long and overall just too bulky). Patagonia Down Sweater Hoodie in medium fit her perfectly. BC Gearhead was helpful w/ the swap.

Ok sizing seems off from specs

          • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
          • Fit: Runs small
          • Size Bought: medium

I am sending this back as it didn't quite fit.
Pros: very lightweight, didn't see any feathers poking out, nice olive color, generous hood
Cons: zipper kept getting stuck, seemed off from size chart

I'm 5-5, 130 lbs, 36b. Used size chart and said medium was 37" chest. I tried this on and it felt snug in the chest. I measured it and it was just under 18" from pit to pit. The listing said 24.5" inches long, this one was 26.5". It was snug in the chest and overall too long. If you had the right porportions this would be a great jacket.

          Great jacket: warm, packable, lightweigh

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Fit: True to size
          • Size Bought: Small

Another great Arc'Teryx product. Like the versatility of the Arc'Teryx Cerium LT, using it as a standalone piece as well as a layering piece vs. taking both a down jacket and heavier [separate] down jacket for the evenings and cool mornings on our Machu Picchu trek. Layered beneath the 2nd down jacket as well as under a rain shell. Used around town, too, and have since taken it camping. Combo down and synthetic insulation gives me a little peace of mind if I get caught in an unexpected shower. Super lightweight and packable.

          How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
          Bust:
With arms relaxed at your sides, measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your bust/chest.
          Waist:
Measure around your waist at the narrowest part.
          Hip:
Standing with feet hip width apart, measure around your hips at the widest part.
          Inseam:
From standing position, measure from your crotch to your ankle.
          Sleeve:
With arm relaxed at your side and slightly bent, measure from center back neck, across shoulder to elbow and down to wrist.
          Crotch to Floor:
With bare feet, measure from your crotch down the inside leg to the floor.
*Actual inseam length will vary depending on what Arc'teryx deemed suitable for end use footwear.
