Arc'teryx Arenite Hooded Fleece Jacket - Men's

Athletic excellence.

Slim enough to wear under a shell and durable enough to sport on its own on climbing trips, hikes, and ski tours, the Arc'teryx Arenite Men's Hooded Fleece Jacket is the perfect layer for just about every outdoor activity you can think of. It's made of Cobblecomb fleece, which has a smooth, durable outer layer and a soft inner weave that feels great against skin and wicks moisture efficiently to keep you dry and comfortable during higher-intensity activities. In classic Arc'teryx style, the Arenite has an athletic fit, and it also features gusseted underarms for freedom of movement for climbing, skiing, and backpacking. The high collar has a soft chin guard to reduce chin irritation, and the two zippered hand pockets are compatible with packs and harnesses, as well as finished with water-resistant zippers to keep your snacks and phone dry.

Nice Fitting but questionable quality

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This is an extremely comfortable versatile hoodie and I would recommend it for it's fit. The materiel quality however is less than I would expect. I experienced major pilling after just two weeks of wear

Great fleece hooded jacket

I own both the hooded and non hooded version of this jacket. It is the perfect fleece jacket to wear around town, or to use as a layer on super cold days. It is a fleece jacket, so wind will go through it (not a soft shell, and not a hard shell) It is the perfect fleece to wear as a mid layer or as a jacket around town. I am 5'8" 150lbs and the Small fits perfectly. The build quality is what you would expect from Arc'Teryx, and is showing no wear and tear after a ton of use and quite a few washes.

Very Warm

I got this Jacket to replace my Arcteryx Fortrez because my dog destroyed the zipper on the jacket. Its an awesome piece but here is me nitpicking:

-The 2 pocket openings (shown in the picture) are too high up on the jacket. If you like to walk around with your hands in your pockets (like me) these pockets are too high for a comfortable feel.
-The opening of the pockets seem to be too small for how BIG the pockets are. Looking at the picture, under the Arcteryx logo is a long rectangle, that long rectangle is the ENTIRE pocket. It seems like a waste of space, especially for how small the pocket openings are.
-The inner pocket material is a VERY THIN layer of mesh, it feels like a high quality mesh, but almost too thin for a pocket this size.

However, this jacket seems to be warmer and is noticeably thicker than the Fortrez. Overall, for a midlayer this is a must have for colder days.

Great active fleece, but slim fitting

Love this new fleece hoody! A very warm and hard wearing fleece, this thing rocks. The outside is smooth and doesn't get snagged on rocks like others and also helps keep the wind out. I wore it with just a t-shirt in 40 degrees and was totally fine. The only thing I dislike is the armpits are a bit tight, so if you have a huge chest, this may be a squeeze for you.

Great active fleece, but slim fitting
