AltraTorin 2.5 Running Shoe - Women's

Lightweight flexibility and superior cushioning.

Flexible and lightweight, the Altra Women's Torin 2.5 Running Shoe is designed to keep your feet cushioned and your technique flawless. The newly updated 2.5 features a redesigned upper that keeps in line with Altra's Fit4Her women-specific construction to enhance comfort during your runs.

Whether you're training in the gym or sweating through an Ultramarathon, this neutral running shoe has a FootShape Toe Box that allows your toes to spread out naturally for enhanced stability and speed, while the fully-cushioned Zero Drop platform naturally aligns your body posture and promotes low-impact technique. The dual-layer EVA InnerFlex midsole utilizes grid-like grooves to maximize flexibility and reduce weight as the A-Bound layer provides superior cushioning for your feet to bounce happily along. The FootPod outsole maps the bones and tendons of your foot to allow the shoe to flex with your movements, instead of forcing your foot to flex with the rigid structures of your shoe.

lifesaver shoes

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I had double knee surgery a year ago, and these shoes saved my bacon. I love the zero drop as it's made center-foot striking a lot more natural, and they're cushy enough that my knees don't feel like throbbing shredded meat after a run. They're not the most attractive shoes out there, but who cares? I tell everyone they need these shoes if they're dealing with an injury. Torin FTW!

Plenty of cushion

So great, for impact resistance running, hiking or backpacking.

I have an older version of these. They are so awesome. I highly recommend them. These don't have the max cushion, so the feel is similar to a "normal" running shoe. The cushion is nice, though. My joints love me for it. I often run a bit with my pack on, so this added cushion is crucial, for those instances.

These are not meant for trails, but for the road. I use them trail running and backpacking, though, on well worn trails, and have had zero issues. So, i would say they are good for mainly road, with a little trail. I will get a trail specific Altra shoe soon, for more rugged terrain, though.

These have the wide toe box, that Altra is know for. I love the balance and natural strike you get with that. I'm a size 9 in most running and hiking shoes. The 9 always fits right in Altra. So I'd say that are true to size.
