AltraOlympus 2.5 Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Who's high and mighty now?

The fact of the matter is that you are a goddess and the trails are your temple. So in a way, it's awfully convenient that the Altra Women's Olympus 2.5 Trail Running Shoe shares the same name with the Greek mountain and the ego-bruising peak in the Wasatch Range. That being said, it should come as no surprise that the Olympus is designed to elevate your trail running experience and support you as you rack up the miles.

The Olympus 2.5 does feature minimal changes when compared to the 2.0, but it is equipped with an updated upper for added longevity. Though, in keeping with the original design, the Olympus is equipped with a Zero Drop platform that places your heel and forefoot at the same height for a natural stride. Meanwhile, the dual-layer EVA midsole employs an extra layer of A-Bound foam that reduces impact and increases energy return with every step.

Additionally, the Vibram MegaGrip sole is fashioned with Vibram's trail-specific rubber that sticks to terrain and maps the tendons and bones in your foot, providing a comfortable, nimble feel underfoot. To top it all off, the Gaiter Trap now flaunts a four- point attachment system for a secure fit and feel.

  • A tenacious shoe built for technical trail runs
  • Updated upper is more durable and breathable
  • Synthetic overlays for enhanced protection
  • Dual-layer midsole protects foot from obstacles
  • Vibram outsole assures ample traction
  • Zero Drop platform promotes natural stride

For the ladies with wide feet

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

It doesnt show up when you put a wide setting on your search, but these shoes run wide. The shoes I bought are great for hiking or working on your feet all day. And as a shortie, it gave me an inch or so that was a pleasant bonus!

These are my go to shoes
I work in a warehouse where I'm walking on concrete 8 hours a day and my feet are very wide, so finding comfortable shoes is a challenge. There is enough room in the toe box that they don't pinch on the sides and enough cushion and support that my feet and legs don't ache after work. Because I use them so much, I have to replace them about every 5 months.
