AltraOlympus 2.0 Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Altra mixes maximum cushion with an efficient Zero Drop platform in the Women's Olympus 2.0 Trail Running Shoe. The Zero Drop platform places your heel and forefoot at the same height for a natural stride, while the dual-layer EVA midsole employs an extra layer of A-Bound foam that reduces impact and increases energy return with every push off. Altra also added a comfy five-millimeter-thick Contour footbed for even more cushioning when you're billygoating up rocky trails and boulder hopping at speed.

The Olympus 2.0 also features Altra's TrailClaw sole, which is designed to mirror and support your bones and tendons, and utilizes a trail-specific Vibram rubber to lay down starfish levels of grip on slick rocks and loose dirt. Alta's famous FootShape toe box also lets your toes spread out naturally to ensure stability on rugged terrain. To keep your feet cool and dry, Altra equipped the Olympus 2.0 with a quick-drying and durable Trail Mesh upper and finished it off with a Gaiter Trap, so you can wear gaiters without having to wrap them around the shoe's sole and risk losing traction.

Super Comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

My feet are wide so I have a hard time finding shoes that don't pinch and cut off circulation. The shoes are wide at the toes and have a lot of cushioning in them. They are my go to shoes for days that I am going to have to be walking all day.

Perfect Trail Runner!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 8.5

I bought these for a trip to Kauai. I was extremely disappointed in the Hoka Challengers I bought a few months back. They were missing the cushioning of the previous years model. After a bunch of online research I decided to give the Altra Olympus a go. They were a huge success!
We hiked /jogged 13 miles on the Kalalau trail. My feet were fresh as daisies afterwards. I also used them trail running a little over 10 miles in the Waimea Canyon area, and again, no foot soreness what so ever! I'm now making Altra my brand of choice!

Great trail shoe!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 6

This is the 4th time I've bought the Olympus and I LOVE them. I have worn them on some difficult trail runs and my feet stay comfortable. After they have too many miles to keep running in them they become my work shoe. And I work busy 12 hour shifts as a nurse. My only complaint is the 2.0 are very wide!

Really wanted to like them

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I recently paced a guy for a 100-miler who wore these shoes, and because they were so comfortable he didn't change shoes and wore them for the entire race. With that endorsement, I had really high expectations but unfortunately, they were not a good fit for my feet (they're average width) and I'm sending them back.
- super cushy and light
- responsive and grippy
- they gave me blisters on the tops of my toes (height of the toe box?)
- my heels would slip even though I "butterfly" tied my shoes
- while the toe box was roomy, they pinched on the sides just below the toe box

Very Comfortable

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought these for my wife after she started working on her feet all day. She hasn't run in them yet but her feet feel much better than in her old running shoes. The extra cushion makes these her go to's for work.

Comfort and Support

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

After a stress fracture in my foot, I was in the market for a shoe that would provide maximum cushion while still maintaining the zero drop that you get in more traditional minimalist shoes. The Olympus is amazingly comfortable and provides just the right amount of support. I love running in this shoe, and so far, my feet have been really happy!

Darn Awesome

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been waiting for this version of the Olympus to be available, primary for the Vibram sole and it was well worth the wait. Hands down this has been one of the best trail shoe soles I have run it. I have run on hard packed snow, crunchy ice, dirt and pavement and the grip has been great in all other conditions. The only con that I have found with the shoe is there isn't enough height in the toe box so I had to remove the insole to get the height I like. Great shoe, would highly recommend it.
