Either there is not enough down in the bag or too much down ended up in the foot box and hood. I can not get the down to spread in the area around my body for full coverage. I've put the bag in a dryer at low heat with tennis balls to fluff the down, stored it properly hung in a closet and then tried to spread the down by hand, yet when held up to a light I can see I just can't get full coverage.
Because of this I purchased a highly rated bag from another company, lll keep this bag for summer backpacking which will reduce the wear on the good bag I just bought.
I think backcountry should look into this and consider whether selling this bag is in their best interest.

Have had amazing experiences with this product thus far! Very lightweight and pack-able for adventures out in the mountains. This product has kept me warm on those chilly nights at 10,000 ft. while it's small pack size make it a convenient bag to take on trips of any length. This product has endured damp conditions, the zipper getting stuck, and being shoved in a bag multiple times with no sign of wear and tear. It is tough, lightweight, warm, and for the price it cannot be beat!

This bag has a decent amount of down and features a good shell material, but there are only 7 baffles...and this allows the down to bunch up way more than most sleeping bags with 10 - 14.

Used this bag now on at least a dozen camping trips, half of them backpacking. Getting a down bag at this price is a steal. stayed warm in the mountains in fall and the desert in winter. Also use it in milder temps and just leave it unzipped and folded over like a blanket. Seems VERY durable so far. I have gotten the zipper stuck on the fabric and had to yank pretty hard, thought i was gonna ruin it, but not a single rip. Haven't had an issue with the down bunching, but if it does I'm sure that can be easily remedied.

I read through the reviews and decided to take a chance on this bag as there were good and bad. Seems to be a well-made bag and I did experience the issue with the compression of the down to piles in the bag leaving other areas void of any down. I solved this simply by throwing the bag in the dryer on no heat for an hour with 4 tennis balls. A bag of tennis balls plus the price of the bag is much cheaper than many other down sleeping bags. It's up to you but I would save the money and buy a bag of practice balls.

I ordered 2 of these bags and returned both the very same day. The down was bunched up in both bags, leaving many spots with zero insulation. The materials feel cheap, although they do compress relatively well. This bag feels like walmart brand quality. I won't be buying anything from Alps Mountaineering again.

A great bag , good warmth (mid 40, 5 -7 celcius) . A liner does help as well might I say. Good size not too tight nor big. Incredible compressibility unlike many other Alps sleeping bags ( Crescent Lake as an example). This a bag that fits with your tent, within a 50L bag without issues. Would buy a second if they come back

When I saw the price this bag was going for, I had to make the purchase. Down bags at these prices are just unheard of. The fact that it came with a compression sack even sweetened the deal. It'a true 20 degree down bag at an incredible price. You won't be disappointed!
