Get cozy in the woods.

Sleeping on the ground in just a bag with no sleeping bag is not only uncomfortable, it's also cold because you have nothing between you and the cold ground. The Alps Mountaineering XL Lightweight Series Air Pad is made for tall outdoorsy types who aren't big on suffering while roughing it. Lightweight Series Air Pads inflate and deflate quickly and packs into a compact roll to minimize bulk in your pack. The tough ripstop and taffeta construction resists punctures. The pad comes with a stuff sack, compression straps, and a repair kit.

Vey cushy

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Very nice. Plenty thick. I've used it twice on top of my cot and slept great. It's slippery with my nylon sleeping bag on it but not a big deal on the level cot. If you are on the ground and rolling around you'll slip on it. I didn't think it was worth upgrading to the Comfort pad though.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Bought this product and was stoked because it appeared to be a good amount of inflation, lightweight, and was pretty affordable.

I felt everything. Every bump. The amount of inflation was not enough (I only weigh 120Ibs). It started to really tear up too after the fourth backpacking trip with it... one spot I patched up with duct tape but it stopped sticking to the material so I just trashed it.

The stuff sack also shredded to pieces after the 3rd trip. This was also a really large and unmanageable load to carry for backpacking... It does not roll up very small! (see photo)

Great sleeping pad

I purchased the XL. I was very happy with the quality and the size. Very easy to inflate. Very easy to deflate. Great buy.

    Nice, Wide, Cushy

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These pads are great! They are nice and wide.. wished they made them wide and short in length.. but it's alright cuz its cushy. It definately is not for packing light if your hiking and camping out cuz it is very bulky

OMG they're calling a 6 lbs 10 oz PAD lightweight?

    Hey ottp313261,

Unfortunately that is the case - I am just as surprised as you are!

    So comfy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Makes for a great night's sleep when car camping. The XL is nice and wide.

Cant wait to take out camping

      Very confortable

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This sleep pad is very comfortable the only issue to consider is that is quite big so if put two or three in you car is going to take quite a lot of room.

      How thick is it?

      How thick is it?

This pad is 3 inches thick.
