15.4 oz not 10oz
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Looking to shed some ounches, thought for 50% off normal price for $17.49 on sister site SteepandCheap.com. It claimed it’s weight was 10oz and for that price there are no options to compete with it. But, it weighs in a 15.4 ounces, now if it was maybe a half an ounce off I wouldn’t have said anything, but this pad is 154% of its claimed weight, that’s quite the descrepancy, and at just about a pound there are other options to consider. I love Alps mountaineering gear, I have 2 sleeping bags and a tent, I think it’s good quality gear, but this hyperbole in weight has me perturbed.
Other than that it’s a collapsible foam sleeping pad, I think it’s comfortable for any pad, will be indestructible and great to use as an internal back support of you go UL or frameless.
I’ll post a follow up or revision after further use if my opinion changes. Moving out west and will use it with my service with the NPS. If I wasn’t moving so soon, I would return it, but will unlikely be able to get a replacement in time. Overall Pleased with the product, not the companies weight claims. 3 stars
