Held up in a full night of snow and ice

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this tent for me and my wife to use when we go backpacking this summer. I decided to test it out in the colder months in my backyard during a night where we received snow and ice rain most of the night and there wasn't a single drop of water inside this tent anywhere when I woke up the next morning. The fly was a bit weird to put on during my first pitch but once I figured it out, the 2nd time was quick and easy. 2 large vestibule areas on each side and PLENTY of space for me and my wife, im 6'3, 175 lbs and she is 5'0, 110 lbs. Im very satisfied with my purchase! Great price for a great product.

Tent poles are weak

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Pros The tent itself is really nice, it has kept us completely dry every time we used it. It is really easy to setup. It is true to size and is a perfect 2-person tent. Cons The aluminum poles are weak and have failed/broken on both trips it was taken on in the BWCA. On both trips, the same piece broke off. It is the thin alum rod that slides into the next section. On the first trip, it was fixable with duct tape and a stick cause it failed in a straight section. On the second trip it failed where the pole makes the bend down and we had to cut our BWCA trip short by 3 days. Needless to say, we were all very disappointed.

Rain Fly Awkward

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Decent tent. Rain fly is not user friendly to line up with tent. It works, but it could work better. Tent zips to fly zips not the easiest to maneuver late at night. Inside room with good headspace. Gear hammock works, but I also miss side pockets from an older Nemo tent. Staid dry through big storms without a footprint.

Packs Small and Light, But....

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

We just returned from a 3 night trip in West Virginia. Due to the "odd" shape of the tent set-up can be challenging at first but it will quickly make sense. Fitting the rainfly is a similar challenge having to rotate it to find the direction it attaches. It rained and rained and rained. After the first night the rain penetrated the rainfly so was dripping inside the tent. the floor seemed to do a good job staying mostly dry even setting up in wet grass, weeds, etc.. I mostly like the tent and would enjoy it in dry weather even more. I'm going to try and seal the rainfly and see if that helps.

Good quality

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

If your looking for a durable, easy to set up tent then this one fits the bill. It has a great price point for the features and size. Have used this tent on multiple backpacking trips over the last 10 months and it has done very well (even in heavy downpours). When you split up the weight between 2 or three people it works great for backpacking though it is on the heavier side. The large vestibules are great for gear storage and it vents reasonably well. This would be a great choice for the occasional backpacker because of price, quality, and ease of use. But I will be looking to purchase something closer to the ?ultralight? weight in the future. I give it a 5 star! (Pro tip: the optional footprint was also a great purchase as well.)
