There's no better way to end a long day backpacking than with a hot, full-flavored meal. The AlpineAire Thai Style Chicken with Noodles meal is mildly spiced with a Thai-style sauce along with peanuts, tree nuts, and vegetables. Just boil two cups of water, add it to the pouch, and you're ready for chow time. Each package contains about two servings.

    • Easy to make

    Terrible

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Very bland and soupy using the recommended amount of water. Glad I tested it before relying on it in an emergency. Won't purchase again. I regret ordering two thinking it would be good.

    Fills you up

As other reviews said, the noodles are a little weird and this could probably use a little more spice, but you'll be full after eating it.

Not the best, not the worst.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Very middle of the road. Unoffensive, easy, taste is mediocre. Does the job and gets calories in you.

      Good Backpacking Meal

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This was good tasting and easy to make! It was a good meal to end a long day of backpacking. Good price, good flavor!

      Definitely not

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Tasted horrible when I wanted a half decent meal. If I'm starving, I'd rather eat a Twinkie than this.

      pretty good

Not my favorite but was filling and enjoyable.

        Tasty and filling

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

First time trying AlpineAire and so far so good! Very tasty and after a full day of backpacking in the Uintas in Utah this was a great meal to fuel me up.

        Good flavor for the wilderness

Disclaimer: all my food reviews will be after I've been out in the middle of nowhere for a few days, mostly eating bars, so anything hot is going to be the best meal of my life.
The thai spice flavor in this is pretty good, but the texture is not as good as a restaurant (no surprise.) I'd recommend letting it sit with hot water for an extra 5 minutes at least to make sure everything gets cooked.

          It was weird.

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

It reminded me of slightly asian chili mac. The noodles are actual macaroni noodles too, which seemed odd in an asian dish to me. I will not be repurchasing this.

          Eat like a king

Lots of flavor to smack you in the face. Will definitely buy again.
