    Very Hearty

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

After hiking all day with 40lbs on your back, you get pretty hungry. So being able to just add boiling water and have a hearty, tasty meal is all you could ask. The flavor of this one was as good as any I've tried, and like most freeze dried meals, it packs down super small.

    Filling

You can't complain too much about a meal that just needs water. It's dark. You just carried 40lbs 10 miles up 3k of vert. Some of the meals need more/less water than directed and often I'll let them sit a little longer. If you brought some seasoning/spices this meal could use some.

      Brother-approved

Picked this one up for my brother for a Uintas trip we did recently. Said it's one of the best packaged camp meals he's tried so far.

      Tasty

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This was pretty good. There was a hefty helping and was quite filling. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be, but still had a bit of a bite to notice. I used this out on a rainy night and kept me quite warm. Add below the recommended amount of boiling water, though. Otherwise you will be eating a pasta soup!(which still wasn't bad)

      Tasty

      Ehhhh, nope

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Tasted good but couldn't get noodles to cook all the way.
