Sweeten your backpacking trips with AlpineAire's Pineapple Orange Chicken. This meal is quick to make, easy to clean, and is packed with protein and rice for a full stomach.
- Chicken and rice
- Sweetened with honey and pineapple
- Vegetables and classic oriental spices
- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Decent tasting food for being freeze dried. Can't really tell the difference between the other brands, but overall It recommend them if they have the menu items you want.
My only gripe between all the brands is the bulky packaging. I usually transfer into a smaller bag just before my trips to alleviate the bulk of carrying trash out.
Decent meal for the backcountry
So I've found most space food to be hit or miss. While this pineapple orange chicken may not be a hit, it's sure not a miss. It's not too salty, kinda sweet actually but aside from the pineapple there's not a lot of other favors to be defined. It reconstituted well, no crunchy spots. Will buy again but will defiantly add some hot sauce
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This is a twist on your normal backpacker meals. If you did not kill in on the climb in and do not need some of the more calorie dense meals grab this guy. It is zesty filling, and a great choice!
Mmm Mmm Good!
This is the first time I tried some AlpineAire meals. I am very glad I did. This meal was very satisfying after a 14 mile day. If it wasn't for these food options I would eat like garbage while backpacking because I can't even cook at home. These are very easy to use. Add water, let sit, stir, fill your belly with deliciousness.
