Better to have it and not need it.

Don't be the guy who stands around gawking during an emergency. Grab the Rapid Response Trauma Pak First Aid Kit from Adventure Medical and make yourself useful. The QuikClot clotting sponge in this package certainly won't be a panacea for any and all potential trauma in the wilderness—it will however help you stabilize someone until more advanced care can be sought later. Examination gloves and a biohazard disposal bag help to mitigate risks and help prevent a single emergency from turning into something worse.

Must have for a good trauma kit

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I keep several of these in my trauma kit.

Not a bad idea!

If you ever like to wonder far off the path or like to do dangerous things with your friends then this is for you. It's not a bad idea to carry this around when you are in a secluded area, it could be the difference between life and death. I like to do dangerous adventurous stuff in the mountains with my friends and I picked one of these up because it could save one of us if we were bleeding out waiting for a helicopter. It doesn't take up too much space in my pack and doesn't weigh much either so it's really a no brainer for me. Haven't needed to use it which is a great thing.
