With that said, it takes a certain amount of courage, and preparation, to power through wet and dark miles for the sake of a workout, and we suggest taking whatever planning measures you can to be prepared, stay seen, and stay dry. Donning the 7mesh Rebellion Jacket makes a good start — its built to handle the near torrential downpours of the Pacific Northwest, while still offering a slim fit that doesn't get in the way of your pedal strokes and movements on the bike.

7Mesh starts the Rebellion Jacket off with 13D nylon Ripstop fabric that manages to be just as tough as it is light, holding up to snags with branches, and abrasion, while only scaling in at a minuscule 183-grams. Since night miles feature a critical challenge in the visibility department, the jacket comes in just two colors, a rich mallard blue, or if you want to amp your visibility factor, fluo yellow, and is packed with reflective accents at the cuff and at the dropped back hem for an added kick of brightness under headlights. A three-layer GORE-TEX Active membrane sits atop the fabric with two main goals in mind — to keep water out, and let sweat escape. It packs in stretchy durability, while holding up to the rain, and maintaining the breathability that we covet from GORE-TEX products. The Rebellion Jacket was built with rainy nights in mind, so its only natural that 7Mesh would add in all the bells and whistles to keep things dry, like fully sealed seams, a watertight zippered side pocket for your gadgets, watertight zippered cuffs at the wrists, and full-length watertight front zipper. But as much as keeping water out is important, it only really helps you out if sweat can escape as well, so the jacket is equipped with passthrough vents in the back that enable you to access your jersey pockets, and zippered vents at the wrists to allow cool air to usher sweat outward. Finally, the jersey is finished off with an elastic gripper at the hem to lock the fit in place, and a brushed collar that stays comfortable against your skin through the miles.
