The North Face Nuptse Down Jacket - Men's

Tie the knot.

You weren't really looking for a committed relationship when you first met The North Face Men's Nuptse Down Jacket, but it's easy to see how its superior warmth, classic fit, and iconic The North Face branding lead you seal the deal with this winter staple. When you're not relishing in comfort behind its plush 700-fill down insulation, you're sure to take comfort in its high-loft baffles, which are specifically designed to maximize the amount of warmth you get from each down cluster. Cheaply made

I bought this coat at a North Face store about 2 years ago. The plastic zipper has always been a problem and recently broke off the jacket. It was always getting caught in the nylon anyway. I realize it's not an expensive jacket, but the same version of this coat I had for 5 or so years and had a metal zipper, better quality. Would not buy North Face again.

    toasty warm

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

bought this for my son and he said it is the warmest jacket he has ever owned.

    Great coat, awesome company

    • Size Bought: Large

Very warm. Lightweight. Good fit. Not much more to say.

    Get what you pay for

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small

Jacket is extremely warm, I have long arms and it fits excellent. Runs a little small, I take a medium and a large fit perfect. Instead of returning I gave the medium to my son, who loves it, and got a large.

    Great jacket, great customer service

I love the jacket. It fits and looks great. It hasn't been cold enough yet to fully test the warmth but should be more than adequate.

I had an issue with shipping, not in any way Backcountry's fault, that was promptly dealt with by a customer service rep and a replacement jacket was sent via overnight air. Ideally you don't need to contact customer service, but this was the best customer service experience I've had in recent memory. I will definitely shop with Backcountry again.

    Great Coat, Greater Customer Service

Not new to North Face products, but new to shopping with this company. At the very last minute, I had to change my coat color and they were able to do it without a hitch! Great customer service! Will shop again!

      Good to go

I purchased this for my son. The item arrived on time and in good condition. The color and fit are as described. It is not "too poofy", and my son loves the color. The price was excellent, and we are both pleased with the jacket. Shipping was fast and free. I'm a backcountry fan for life!

      Amazing

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XXL

My fianc'e loves this jacket. He's 6' 2 165lbs and I bought him the XXL (he's very long torso) and thought it might be too big or puffy in the waist area but it has a string at the inside bottom of the coat where you can tighten how tight or loose it fits at the hips. Once he was able to tighten it the coat wasn't as "roomy" and it looked more fitted. It's super warm he said.

I ordered a jacket from you on Christmas an was supposed to get 2 day shipping and I still did not even get an order confirmation let alone a shipping date??

      Hi Debra,

I took a look at your order-- you placed the order after the shipping cutoff on Christmas Eve, and UPS does not ship on the 25th-- So your order shipped out on Monday (the 28th), and looks to be on the truck for delivery today-- two business days from the date of shipment. I've re-sent your confirmation email, and I'll follow with an email containing your tracking details. :) Let me know if I can help with anything else!

      Updated version disappointment

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: large

6' 195 lbs. I am disappointed in the newer version. It's not as warm as my older nuptse 2. Warmth is all I was trying to achieve under a shell. I'd say it's good to about 35 degrees F. The fit is a little better in the arms. I get cold easy. My old nuptse 2 was awesome in -10 F under a mountain light shell. I miss that one.

May you suggest me a warm jacket? I can't find it and i'm looking for that for 2 years. The jackets are so cold today if compared to the last years.

Casual wear in Kazakhstan in winter time (-5C to -20C), base camps, emergency gear during winter mountaineering trips. I am impressed, how comfortable this jacket!!! But do not forget, this is insulation layer and will not protect you from snow and rain, additional hard shell required.

      One on the best jackets!

      Hello:

Do you price match with Overstock?

Looking for a Nuptse2 Down jacket in Black

      http://www.overstock.com/Clothing-Shoes/The-North-Face-Mens-Black-Nuptse-2-Jacket/8503975/product.html

      Regards,

      Jithesh

Unfortunately, they are not the same product. The one on overstock is the Nuptse 2 (style code AUFD), this product page is for the Nuptse (style code C759). We cannot price match them, and it looks like we are sold out of the Nuptse 2.

So i got this "Nuptse" jacket for my BF in a large (white). I'm thinking about getting another one for him that is a little more fitted (M). The white one that I got for him is rather large. Can someone please tell me what color exactly is "black ink green heather?" It looks dark grey to me but I'm not sure since there is another color that actually says "heather grey." Please advise. Thank you in advance.

      Hi Su G.

The black in green is a very dark green/grey.

Would this jacket be zip in compatible with the Men's 3 in 1 Carto? The liner on the Carto is not down, and for the sale price it seems like it would be worth purchasing the Nuptse as an alternate, warmer lining.

      Hey,

Unfortunately the Nupse is not compatible. http://www.thenorthface.com/en_US/shop-by/shop-by-benefit/zip-in-compatible-jackets/. Check that link out.

I'm looking to buy TNF Nuptse Jacket for my boyfriend as a surprise. He's 5'11 and 180-185 lbs. What size would you recomend? Thank you in advance.

I wear and XX Large and I am 6' 1" and 220. I recommend the X large for him. Do not want it too tight to have movement. I did buy mine 12 years ago.

Thanks for your input. I ended up chatting and calling TNF coprate myself and chose to go with the large. When he finally tried it on it was somewhat big and could have gone with the medium. Having the hem cinch draw cord really helped to make the jacket appear a little more better fit. We've thought about returning for a medium, but i told him the complaint (from what I have heard is that they tend to run tight in the arm pit thus constricting movements). So he retried it and I think we are sticking with the large. Just wanted to say thanks for the prompt shipping. I ordered it on late saturday evening and receiving ups shipping update on Sunday and received by Friday. Also, I ended up buy another nupste 2 ladies jacket for myself at an awesome price. Not sure about the size but I took a chance on a medium. At $120.00, no shipping, no tax, you cannot beat this deal people. Will be back for more in the future. You guys at Back Country ROCK!!!!

      Unanswered Question

i am looking to get a new nuptse for men. ideally would like to get a slimmer fit, which is nuptse 2 jacket. however they are not available anymore. In TNF website, the product description for Nuptse 2014 says 'jacket now sports a updated fit'. is 2014 nutpse jacket is in fact same as nutpse 2 jacket?

      thanks

      Awesome

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Fits well. It's probably on the larger side of "true to size" but it's what you want in a coat. Fits very well and allows for more movement than any other coat I've had - not tight in the arm pits or anything as someone commented. It's incredibly warm too. Highly recommend.

One of the great classic down coats

The North Face Nuptse down jacket is one of the all-time classic puffy coats. It is one of The North Face's warmest down jackets and is as well suited for the mountains as it is for a walk downtown. I have had mine for a number of years now, and can highly recommend it. I am 6"1 185 lbs and the large fits me great.
