Sales Tax

Charging sales tax on orders is completely based on where you are shipping your package. We're only in Utah, and since most of you aren't, we usually don't have to charge you a cent, BUT some states may require you to pay sales tax. Check below to see if your state requires sales tax:
  • Utah: If you live in Utah, you will be charged sales tax if you are shopping in our Retail Store or Shipping an order to a Utah address. (But you also get to brag about 500+ inches of snow each year.)
  • Colorado: Steepandcheap.com is not required to collect Colorado sales taxes on your purchase from this website. However, beginning March 1, 2010 we are required to notify you, as a Colorado purchaser, that your purchase from this website may require you to file a sales or use tax return and pay the appropriate sales or use tax directly to the State of Colorado. The application of sales or use tax to your purchase may depend upon the type of product that you purchased and your status as a taxpayer. Please consult a tax professional or the Colorado Department of Revenue if you have questions.
