pj, isn't it weird how it drains your wallet but its ment to save you oodles of dough?

As far as digital compasses go, i trust the old fashion way a little more.

Hammocksleeper -
Thanks for the advice. I'm actually in Colorado Springs, and I wanted to save some money and maybe even make some by tuning my own skis and maybe some for friends/coworkers/etc.. SAC has drained my wallet.

I got some stickers today too! Nice logo. I'm not biting on a digital compass. I have a nice normal compass that works just fine.

i'm assuming you live in the desert or something ;) what i would suggest is next time you go skiing go to a good ski shop around there and get your stuff. on your next trip, fly in a day early get your stuff and tune them then you'll be ready for the slopes!

Question for anyone who wants to answer.
I don't live near any good ski shops, and would like to buy some tuning stuff for my house. Any ideas where I could find good stuff online?

by Smoketree (308)

Has anyone actually used one of these? If so, what do you think of it?

by dakranii (551)

I got my stickers today too. They also diagnosed me as a SAC addict. But they didn't give me a cure. Except 4 stickers. But I'm not sure I want to advertise and risk missing deals because others took my deal! :-) Just kidding, I tell people about the site already. I'll put my stickers somewhere...

I have been waiting for one of these that I can afford!

by Phil G (37)

Thanks for the stickers and the nice letter. The new logo looks great. ;)

by kcclimber (17)

Hmmm,
How about 10 or more purchases! That's what keeps the site going....

;)

by lodidodi (851)

I got a letter and 4 stickers in the mail today from steepandcheap. Actually it was postmarked backcountry. They made a steepandcheap loco and said it will be on the website soon. If you made 10 or more posts you'll prob be getting one.

by Hammocksleeper (13)

so can you fit a watchband to this thing or do you just carry it loose in your pocket? i can't tell from the photo.

by lodidodi (851)

there are in the outlet for a reason

Happy Birthday, Hansel.

IMO

(the one on the recent HGear watch is great to have, but it sucks to use, get a real compass and dont rely on this gadget)

by Phil G (37)

rather wait for a suunto since mine was STOLEN from our transition area.

by Hansel (38)

oh thanks

by wizard604 (45)

I've been showing great restraint lately. No more frivolous purchases. ;) I've decided that after several jackets & skis later, that maybe a good deal isn't always such a good deal if you don't really need it.

by Bramski (4)

Hmm, sounds like you have to recalibrate this thing pretty often. Seems like I almost never leave the northwest, so this would be somewhat annoying. But at 2 oz and backlit, I'm sold.

Oh, and happy b-day.

One Deal at a Time

At Steep and Cheap, we sell premium, core outdoor gear and clothing at prices that are downright criminal. Here’s how it works: Steep and Cheap sells one screamin’ deal at a time until it’s gone. The deals are fat, so they sell out fast. You have to act fast or you’ll miss it, but don’t stress—as soon as one deal sells out, we kick off another. It’s back-to-back deals all day long. Learn more.
