Mammut Nordwand Pro HS Hooded Jacket - Men's

Climb up, ski down, repeat.

The Mammut Men's Nordwand Pro HS Hooded Jacket is an all-around performer in high altitudes whether you're ski touring or alpine climbing. Gore-Tex Pro gives this light, thin, three-layer shell high levels of waterproof protection that remains extremely breathable for active endeavors. Fully taped seams enhance waterproofing by preventing moisture, snowfall, and raindrops from seeping through.

Mammut equipped the Nordwand with zippers under each arm for ventilated airflow, and the powder skirt is removable to transition between skiing and climbing. The hood uses two adjustments to cinch around either climbing or skiing helmets with ease. There's a jacket-to-pant interface with Mammut's Nordwand Pro HS Pant for complete coverage, and both front pockets are accessible even with a backpack or harness on.

Does this jacket have wrist gaiters?

New isn't always better

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

I just purchased a Nordwand HS Pro in size large and feel that the jacket is too snug across the chest and arm openings at the shoulders. I am 6' - 0" and 190 pounds and a large is typically adequate for my frame. Not in this case. I will probably need to get an XL as I feel like I'm suspended from my armpits with this size.

Another item of note is that the newer version of this jacket is called the HS Pro and it does NOT include a sleeve pocket. This is disappointing as that has proven to be a useful feature for accessing important, lightweight items.

I agree, the jacket cuts into my armpits. Otherwise, very high quality. Orange is very bright color. The picture here doesn't make it justice.
