Point it out.

The original Wailer 112 RPC is perhaps DPS' most beloved ski, with a giant sweet spot and loads of stability, but that doesn't mean it's perfect for everyone. Never fear, though; if you love the RPC's reliability and float but want a little more aggression and down-the-fall-line attitude, the new Wailer 112RPC Pure3 Ski is what you've been pining for. It's a slightly rejiggered form of the original, with a turn radius that's been stretched out into the low 20m range and a more gradual rocker profile that gives you a longer running surface, better edge grip, and increased stability for devouring chop, hammering high-speed runouts, and pushing the speed limit in wide-open terrain.

The new rocker profile might make the RPC a little less playful than the RP, but it's still quick and nimble enough to make short work of tighter, techier spots. With a lively but stout heart of aspen that's sandwiched between two layers of aerospace-grade prepreg carbon fiber—DPS' legendary Pure3 construction—the RPC supplies plenty of energy, but never feels unstable or unresponsive in the way of lightweight or all-metal skis, respectively. The Paddle Tech sidecut tapers at the rocker contact points to make it easy to initiate smooth, hook-free turns, so you won't get hung up in soft snow or bucked when you try to throw your skis sideways, movie-slash style.

If you do need to hammer down some hardpack or slice up some sun-baked or wind-affected snow, the Pure3's stiff sandwich construction, burly UHMW sidewalls, and steel edges hardened to 48 Rockwell make it as easy as dicing up tomatoes. The World Cup bases let you hit Mach speeds, and the textured topsheets shed snow to keep weight down so you never start feeling sluggish when you're tearing up piles of cold smoke.
