- How to Measure:
- For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
- Chest:
- Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
- Waist:
- Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
- Hip:
- Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
- Inseam:
- Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
- Sleeve:
- Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.

Seam across the knee?

These pants are very well-made. However, on my legs, a seam went right down the front of my kneecap, so I returned them.

I took these pants to a special missions assessment in some very harsh and hot terrain/climate. They kept me dry; however, the crotch runs high on them causing some irritation. If you plan to be using them in the midwest I would be cautious of the thin material... the burrs on some of the vegetation will tear away at your shins. Plus there is no zipper or buttons on the pockets Recommendation: replace the crotch with a stretchy fabric of some sort to increase mobility and stitch some reinforced fabric to the shin area for extra protection
Arc'teryx Rampart Pants Rock!

Excellent fit, super comfortable and light weight, especially in warm weather. Partially water repellent. The pockets are cleverly designed and do away with velcro or zippers. So, no fumbling in getting stuff in/out quickly. Bought a second pair already!!
Perfect hiking pants

These have replaced my North Face convertible pants as my favorite hiking pants. Perfect fit (I'm 5'10", 180, wear 32/30), not too baggy (and that makes them look sharp enough when you're off the trail) and the stretch aspect of the fabric makes them super comfy. The material dries very quickly when wet. Finally, the pockets are useful, as the stretch fabric means that your legs don't bind when hiking with big items in the pockets.
Perfect for drizzly days in the city

Very comfortable and lightweight but protective too. I live in Seattle and wear them on rainy/drizzly days on my 2 mile walk to work. They keep me dry plus they look good enough to wear throughout the day at the office. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Awesome Lightweight Pants!

I was so happy to find pants like this with an inseam for tall people! While they are a bit expensive, Arc'teryx does not disappoint. I found these pants perfect for hiking in warm weather. They breathe well and dry very quickly after they get wet. I liked the numerous non-bulky pockets, too. The only negative that I could find is that there is a bit of that nylon 'whoosh whoosh' when you walk around. In my opinion, it was not worth deducting a star because it was minor and to be expected as they are made almost entirely of nylon.

I have got two Rampart pants, in different colors. I will get a third one soon. They are lightweight and easy to pack in a cabin bag. Very good water resistence and breathability. Very nice fit and confortable pockets. Good for urban jungle and hicking trails. I would strongly recommend them to a friend and I would do so with most of Arcteryx stuff.
a bit of China in every pair

as of several years ago, arc'teryx and its holdings was purchased by ADIDAS (also Saloman met the same fate) and from then on out is seems Arc'teryx has started making some of it's Canadian items in China... these pants seem overall a fine item, but the waist is 2 inches too big! I ordered a size 30, the tag says size 30, and im a size 30. These pants have a 32" waist and for the sport of backpacking, it is very difficult and annoying to wear a belt while wearing a pack. the whole point of a clean waistline from pants like this is so you dont have to wear a belt.. bottom line: the waist is bigger than advertised, and that's pathetic for $68 pants!

The Rampart pants are really comfortable. Super light and seem to offer a lot of wind protection in case it gets cold. The sizing was spot on. As soon as you see an Arc'teryx product you like, buy it, you won't be disappointed.
